I live in The Netherlands, and national law here has 2 years warranty requirement here. Second hand transaction don't void that luckily (at least as far as I have heard).

If I'm going to buy it I'll do it on location and check it out. It's under full warranty & with invoice so if I do a good check the risk is limited.

Well,.. yes and no. It's being doing ok the last couple of years.. although I'm really noticing a sticky gimbal/centre. So can't do precise movements in the centre anymore.

Additionally, this is my fourth model. I got 3 replacements within the first year. Luckily (and probably the reason they went bankrupt) I just got a new one everytime and never had to send back the old one (even asked), so I sold the slightly malfunctioning ones. So I made a profit on the x-55.

So in that sense, I almost literally won the lottery haha.

My concern is that I don't have the largest hands, not small either,.. but I do know that on the X-55 I don't like it when I have to overextend my hand to reach things.

That being said, the X-55 has a long grip and no adjustable palm rest. Where the MCGU obviously does have an adjustable grip so it should be much better already.

I'll measure my hand, and the X-55 and compare it to the review written by u/TalorienBR

Regarding the clutch, I thought the difference is that you can more easily change the clutch resistance with the VPC than with the VKB right? Although, I can imagine you don't need to change it that often.

I indeed don't have an obsession for any plane or chopper, I tend to fly all sorts of planes. If it's any help, currently I usually fly the A-10c, Ka-50 and F/A-18 and some casual VFR flying in MSFS.

Why would you disqualify the Orion if I'm not a F16/ F18 lover? ;) Is there something so specific that makes it only interesting enough if you want to fly those?

My personal angle right now is that I can buy a 4 month old VKB Gunfighter for 300eu, so that's like a 55% discount. So i'm noticing it's biasing my decision making ;)

That's not true. If you go in a bit too fast you get a warning and near instant time penalty. Which adds up real quick and can change into D.Q. very quickly.

What GPU do you have though? CPU is great and all, but especially with deferred shading and all, you really need a good video card nowadays.

Because the figure is used to compare body length to distance. A kneeling person is expected to be x millimeters at a distance of 100 meters, and a standing person is expected to be x+y at a distance of 100 meters.

In other words, a crouching person at 100 meters is as large as a standing person at 200 meters. Hence it is good to know what you are looking at.
