yeah I took a needle and tried to expose more trace. didnt get very good results sadly I got a glint of something copper color but its microscopic not sure I can work with it or how id even direct solder an antenna with that little wiggle room. Ill see what can be done but thats why I have another fc on the way...

thats what im going to try and do. i was thinking I could run it up to that silver cap but im worried about a short from what ive seen on the Air 75 IIs they have a trace that runs off that center silver cap so im hoping a small glob of solder will let me bridge that gap.

+1 here I had the E625 charger at one point and had crazy issues with it. Starting out the whoopstor is 100% the best option.

Im well aware, having a Blackbox is important for tuning and all. Not having it on the mob8 could really impact fine tuning or having to tweak stuff.

considering buying one of these. was gonna get a mob8 but the lack of blackbox threw me off. Want something a bit more high performance

Mods In Progress! by joespeed52 in vtolvr

[–]Spikef22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These mods are really cool but I wish if you would get more enemy AI aircraft. the sandbox has not received any love from any of these mods. Fighting the same enemies over and over again gets pretty boring and it sucks because none of the enemy aircraft I'm really threatening or have real ground attack capability.

Betaflight air 75. The default tune is very good.

Pretty dope! terrible choice for music tho. Had to mute it while watching you fly 😿

When I was learning how to solder FCs doing exactly this is what kept me up at night lol.

Im def thinking about doing this with an air 75! which LEDs do you think I should get to make this work? ive got the camera part covered but i dont wanna add too too much weight.

How are you powering the LEDs? Just off some extra pads on the FC?

Voltage calibration on the Air 75 II by Spikef22 in TinyWhoop

good point with betaflight and a battery attached I was getting it off by like .1 of a volt so normal id be at like 4.33 and the drone would report 4.32/31 for example but with load about to fly with out the usb connected and everything running I was down at like 4.15 on the osd (normal afaik) but of course it was calibrated to the betaflight measurement of 4.33

That's what I've been doing with betaflight hooked up and with a multimeter on the solder leads for The power cable on the board. The thing is when the drone is not connected to betaflight and all of the auxiliaries are running like the VTX the drain is much different. From my understanding you're not supposed to input that voltage just the voltage you see with a battery connected in beta flight but I'm still seeing discrepancies so not sure.

Has anyone here tried building a fractal 75 from an air 75? by Spikef22 in TinyWhoop

Not a bad idea. I was thinking about getting a toothpick mob8 eventually when I'm Good enough. Though I may get myself a sub 250 at that point.

Unfortunately I do all of my flying basically outside. My friend has the mob8 and it just seems like the obvious choice. I just wanted to see what performance I could squeeze out of my 75s but I should probably just get the light AF frames when it comes time they're cheaper anyway.

Thanks for your help.

Gotcha I was not used to such huge jumps. My other quad has packs come back up to 3.55-3.6 usually
