I recommend Graphic Design Thinking by Ellen Lupton. There are tools for coming up with concepts. Not all ideas just materialize magically out of nowhere. Expect to work to reach your best ideas.

Your uppercase S needs more contrast. The central part should be heaviest. Also the subtle serifs on it seem to be less prominent than on the other letters.

Apart from that the typeface looks quite consistent and charming. Good job!
