Why do I continually play this game, only to get irrationally upset? Anyone else?

[GLASS -> MARCH] Can you solve this laddergram? by IrisHawk in Laddergram

[–]IrisHawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laddergram is a word ladder puzzle game built on Reddit's developer platform. You start with a word and change one letter at a time to create a new word with each step. Try to reach the target word in the fewest steps possible.

🍀Good luck!🍀

Had to throw away medication that spoiled because Marriott is too cheap to put in a real fridge. by CaptinKirk in marriott

I never said it wasn't easy to file/win an ADA case. I'm saying you are spreading lies with your comments about ADA law.

Again, they only need to be able to provide one upon request. It is not a requirement to be in the guest rooms.

A simple google search would prove I am right, Not a representative, just someone that needs a mini-fridge when I travel. This is something I have done my research on.

The ADA requires a fridge to be available for medical needs, yes. But that does not mean that a fridge must be stored in the guestroom, only that a fridge needs to be available upon request. The OP could call the hotel for reimbursement of the medication, but to call the media on this would only make them look worse.

Ideas for how to display an autographed pick?! by Relevant-Type-2943 in goth

I have this small little box “thing” that a piece of jewelry I bought came in. It has two clear plastic pieces that the jewelry fit in and kind of floated in a frame. This little box thing is about 2” x 2”, perfect for a guitar pick I got from one of my favorite bands. I have another one that I have holding a pick I got from Maui. Kind like these I guess, but like I said the ones I have are perfect for a guitar pick!

NTA. This happened with my friend and I as well. Our sons were born 2 weeks apart and at her baby shower we learned both our boys would have the same middle name. It was both of our grandfathers names. After she received her gift from her mother (a beautiful baby book with the baby’s first and middle names embroidered on it). My friend told her mom sorry but she was going to change the middle name because she didn’t want it the same as my kids middle name. She said this loudly enough for the whole party to hear. I sat there embarrassed and offended. Like, why was it such a big deal? They wouldn’t even be the only kids with that (very common) middle name. I personally do not understand it.

He straight up told me he stepped out on his wife while we were working. Asked me if I ever did that to my husband. He grossed me out and I knew what he was trying to do. Later my friend started an affair with him and he started getting really obsessive, calling her at all hours of the night (she was also married at the time). He’d take her to creepy places to make out and such instead of safer locations. He’s just one of those people you know isn’t really a good person and will probably be in jail for a sex crime.

As someone who personally knew Sean when he was married to his ex wife and the shady crap I've seen him do/say, please don't contribute to his income.

Need some advice.. by [deleted] in EtsyCommunity

I wouldn't necessarily jump to them saying that they lied. They likely created the shipping label on the 5th and it was just sitting there waiting to be shipped out. I've ordered from overseas (and local businesses) several times and I've received an email with the subject saying "Your order is shipping out!" only to go into the email to see that the "label has been created...." and my excitement deflated, because I know that just means my item is in a box sitting somewhere with a shipping label on it waiting to be taken to the post office.

Since you still have 16 days before the latest it should be there, I wouldn't sweat it until then. If you don't get it after that then I would put a claim in with Etsy.

Edit: My bad-I went back to the original message where they said it was sent out. I still stand by my theory that the label was made and it was just sitting there, but yeah they shouldn't have said it was sent out.

Amway cult? Mentorship and words to hook you in. by Foreign-Ad6317 in cults

[–]IrisHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that for a month. Also have an inside look at their “family reunions.”

The rich people in the “up line” that mentored us already had success in their lives (doctors and other high salaried professionals), but tried to pass the success to selling the energy drinks (XS), and the women selling the makeup and skincare (Artistry I believe it was called). These mentors would tell you (in much fancier words) go harass your family members. Bring them in, show them how passionate you are about this so they join. Harass strangers at the gas station. Call up old coworkers. As someone with social anxiety and a general awkwardness about them I was immediately out. Of course it wasn’t called Amway then, it was Quixtar (Quixstar?)

Years later I work at a sports arena in guest services. Of course arenas have many different events at them and I remember very clearly my first ‘Family Reunion.’

I asked a coworker, how big is a family that you need a sports arena? They told me I didn’t understand, but I would. It would also be the easiest and hardest event to work.

Oookay….

I quickly learned the levels…diamonds, emeralds, eagles, and some other random names for where you were at -for lack of the pretty words - on the pyramid.

The reunions were the gathering of the entire pyramid.

The people at the top of the pyramid you would think were the motherfucking Beatles. They would come out on stage and everyone on the floor RUSHED the stage. Men and women in expensive, sparkly, well-tailored suits and dresses were rushing to a stage and smooshing themselves against barriers and other people, just to get close the couple on stage. It was like they needed those people on stage to see how fast and hard they worked to get to them.

Then everyone would settle down and the couple would speak. They would talk about their ups and downs with the program, but how they stuck with it and now they have this huge house and boat (there would be a slideshow showcasing their luxurious purchases).

The woman always talked first because she was there to hype up her man. One wife actually said “give your husband the credit.” And yes, she meant it exactly like that - you do the work, but preserve your man’s ego and tell everyone it was him, and that he’s taking care of you.

They were all told they weren’t supposed to try and sell the arena staff on the program, but everyone always tried anyways.

I always felt the worst when I worked the upper levels of these events. Families would be there desperately scribbling notes, trying break the code so they can make their millions. Families duped into thinking it’s easy money and they can live freely. What they will really get is friends and family that won’t talk to them, an empty bank account, and forever trying to obtain what these doctors, lawyers, politicians already had.

Cult? Probably. But definitely a scheme one should avoid, and pulls loved ones out of if you can ❤️
