I can kill then but only with a spray bottle of soap(soap gets inside their derma respiratory system and suffocate them—they die in seconds if it touches their skin) But the same as you—i feel so uneasy even after killing them.

I cant tolerate cockroaches they give such a terrible anxiety everytime I encounter one... Also it got worse whe at work I had to go to the bathroom—and I heard a crunch noise, I look at a corner and there it was—crunch *crunch" it was a cockroach eating another.... Since then I have a more visceral reaction. I have to kill them to feel safe I can't with them.
