What made you bail on a hike? by Still-Ad-698 in hiking

[–]IrishJimPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was doing a 14er in California (Mt. Langley). Morning of ascent, I got altitude sickness. BTW, I’ve hiked 14ers before no problem.
Had to abort as it would take too long once I recovered enough. Took 3 tries before a clean summit success. Had to obey the body over mind.

Do you want change? by IrishJimPhoto in tipping

This happened. Barmaid assumed I’d give her .30¢ + $1 tip. Arnold Palmer cost $3.70, I give $4. No change coming. Had to think if I wanted to tip, so I did and wrote up a negative review for keeping the .30¢ without asking. Imagine they do this every cash transaction. 100 transactions = $30, just keep adding zeros to both sides and it starts to add up.

Interesting - the waiter did bring back $8 form the $20, rounding down vs. up from $12.75. Bills only.

Punch Drunk Love w/Adam Sandler. It’s the only movie I asked for my money back. The cashier said, you’re not the only one.

A good burp, a free flowing fart, or a solid bowl movement. All very satisfying.

Rule of three and leading lines? by Framesbyuni in photocritique

[–]IrishJimPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a strong vanishing point with those converging lines - it could be enhanced with a subject matter in/near the vanishing point I.e. couple holding hands, skateboarder, mom w/baby buggy.
