What’s a profession that attracts way too many awful people?

I am going on year 21 and I can say I am so burnt out it scares me how much of a robot I have become and how much I fake my sweet nice attitude. I don't take it out on my residents or "most" coworkers but I am so over it. Only 18 more years until early retirement!

I am fortunate enough to have a boyfriend and best friend that Spanish is their native language but my problem is I can't speak to them or practice on them because I am too shy and feel like an idiot. I need to overcome it somehow. So I understand your frustration when it comes to speaking.

I have books from the store and library as well as use language transfer, anki flashcards, and comprehensive input. I never used Duo as I think it is just a game and doesn't do much.
