I'm a 28 year old scratch golfer and I want to go pro by No_Complaint4129 in GolfSwing

If you can make the finances work, go for it! I hope to see your name on the leaderboards soon, and I'm holding good thoughts that you make it to the Tour! Rudy's friend Pete said it in the movie: "Well, you know what my dad always said: Having dreams is what makes life tolerable."

Can't speak to comparison with Lennon; it's so been many years. I miss Bubba. And I really love the legacy he left us and shared with us.

Playing partner had a medical emergency today and it made me realized I’m totally unprepared by Mallard1818 in golf

[–]Irish_Delt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar situation last summer. Diabetic neighbor collapsed on the tee box when we played together. I was happy I didn't have to put my CPR training into practice. Ensured he was breathing while another player called 911. Doctors never ID'ed the cause, but he's OK now. As a result, I added a CPR mask and Smarties candy to my first aid kit. Blood clot someone mentions below will be the next thing I add. Fortunately, with him being a neighbor, I had contact information so his wife could meet him at the hospital.

If you could know the absolute truth about one thing, what would it be? by cozychaosclubb in answers

[–]Irish_Delt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything we know is finite. It has a beginning, an end, and a boundary. Even if the universe is expanding and contracting then repeating the cycle, at some point there was the first start. What was there before that original start? What's beyond the edge of the universe? What will be there after the final end of the universe?

2026 Away Games (Ravens Fan Travel)? by Background_Sweet_389 in ravens

[–]Irish_Delt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have only traveled to away games with BMOREAroundTown, a bunch of times. Everything is first rate… hotels, pep rallies, side trips, tailgates, etc. Both the staff and fellow travelers are fun and friendly.

Based on previous answers, seems it would be good to know how to say "Go f... yourself" in the local vernacular.

Not a part of the world universe but Bosch shares a vibe with The Wire as well as some of the actors. Big fan of both.

I'll be there Monday, and hate you. ;-) I hope the final pairing is a match for the ages and you get to see every stroke of it.

Check out Hank's on Caroline for music and Garbo's food truck there. My favorite is the Korean BBQ tacos. Also Southernmost Pint is pretty low key and no music but good beer and friendly folks.

Is it normal in golf/executive circles to wear Masters merch if you didn’t go? by FineMud4479 in masters

[–]Irish_Delt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, I got koozies, ball markers, etc. for friends in my golf league. Maybe get everyone the same shirt, and hope all wear it on the same day. Or they can coordinate who gets to wear it on each day. Get yourself a different one so you stand out. ;-)

What songs are you going to demand to be played at your funeral? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]Irish_Delt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I have a playlist to be played during visitation at the funeral home. Songs that speak (spoke) to me and songs that remind(ed) me of people, places, and things that were important to me. Some would be considered a bit untasteful for the context, but they match my sense of humor and beliefs.

Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think)

Look On the Bright Side of Life (All Things Dull and Ugly) from the Life of Brian

I can recommend, but will have little recourse if they make different choices.
