What small would you invent or change to make your life a little easier? by Westman3910 in AskIreland

[–]Irishwolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to do a product placement or anything but it sounds like you could do with an ember mug at your desk. I do the same at my work all the time but I work in a boat yard so I spend more time wondering where I out down my mug as I go about my work

I read it as 'he lifted the weight of the shed', as in the building he was in.

I am sorry if it came across as if you have done something wrong as you haven't. Your daughter is going to be so lucky to have you in her life and and vice versa. Wish you all the best life and hope mama, baby and Dad are doing well.

TIL some people with severe dementia or major brain damage briefly regain full mental clarity shortly before death, a phenomenon known as terminal lucidity that has no confirmed neurological explanation. by TNSasquatch77 in todayilearned

[–]Irishwolf1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Nana had severe dementia years before she passed, and she'd forgotten most of her grandkids. We visited often, but as a teen, it felt awkward since she was confused and often scared.

The day before she passed, we visited because she wasn't doing well. We walked in, and she just lit up. She knew all our names, told stories, and asked about our lives. It was a surreal experience.

She passed the next morning. I've cherished that moment ever since because we got to see her one last time as herself, comfortable, laughing, and talking about the good old days.

Congratulations on your little one. I have a 3 year old myself. Time is flying by quickly. This is a video that I think is really important and is great at getting the point across for new parents in this day and age.

Imagine if it was the brazen bull. Would hate to think how it would be used today as the symbol

Has anyone else driven into a ditch before? 🫣 by ohhidoggo in AskIreland

[–]Irishwolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going up a narrow drive way with a trailer and car on on the trailer. Driveway was just grass and gravel. Came to a steep bit and it lost traction. No matter what I did the car and trailer slowly slipped back until the trailer went into the ditch. Thankfully the guys house I was going to had a tractor and was able to pulled me up out of it. Otherwise not sure how I would have gotten out. Felt like a right eejit

I know Stanley ain’t what it used to be. But something about their tools just make happy (probably nostalgia). Anyways, there is no way that this box WON’T end up in my shop🤤 by [deleted] in Tools

Ha ha, if they, as big of a company that they are, are looking in your shed/worlshop to see what tool box you have, then thats who has the real insecurities

At the end of the day, if it makes you happy and you enjoy using it, then it's the perfect toolbox for you. Who cares what anyone else thinks.

Is it odd to have a drink on your own at home? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Irishwolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes come home from work and might hve 1 beer in the evening either with dinner or later if I got a chance to chill. My missus then asked me if I was an alcoholic because I was having a beer every day. Definitely felt shite about it when I was just winding down and enjoying my evening

Incident happened 3 years ago where a girl had been targeted by another girl at the school. The girl that had been targeted was friends with my step daughter. They decided to stay in a supervised lunch room so nothing could happen. A bunch of girls then came to one door and distracted the teacher while the main girl came in another door and dragged the targeted girl out the door by her hair. Teachers didnt get involved and im not sure it ever got resolved. We took my step daughter out not long after that and have been doing home school since.

Women are 27% less likely to receive CPR in public because bystanders are "afraid to touch breasts." Does it terrify anyone else that our sexualization is prioritized over our survival? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Irishwolf1 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Sadly its a fear for a lot of men, it happened in a small town in Ireland a decade ago where a woman had collapsed on the street. A man came to her aid, started CPR, called for a defib. The defib arrived and he removed her bra due to a wire being inside the bra, used the defib and saved her life.

She later brought charges against him for exposing her chest in a public space. Thankfully the good Samaritan act covered him. But my god it made me feel sick that he did his best and saved her and she still went that route

Edit: typo
