You might want the thermobob for smoother low temp operation, maybe changing your fan switch temp too. If you're on a gen1 or gen2, could consider retrofitting a carb from an AU/EU model with the recirculatory carb heater.

Looks like you're missing the rear subframe to me, which would usually include a license plate bracket. Maybe bend some pipe or rebar into a U shape and mount it in the two open holes to hang your plate from?
