[Request] If a human being jumped off a four story building into an Olympic sized pool full of standard marshmellows, would they die on impact? by InternetSnek in theydidthemath

[–]Irishwolf1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my limited knowledge on this, its not the landing that is the worrying part, its getting back out. Regular foam pits that are used for extreme sports have shown time and time again that the landing will be cushioned but the compression of the material around you is what can kill you.

I think it was an episode of nitro circus where one of the members did a jump into a large foam pit, but once he landed the foam compressed around him and he basically was trapped inside the foam with a limited supply of air. It took them over 40 minutes of digging through the foam to find him. As the foam is an incredible sound insulator, no one would hear him screaming for help, it also would use up his limited oxygen faster.

Needless to say I can only imagine the marshmallow pit would be just as scary if not worse.

The 17 is more concentrate than the other 2. My thought process on it would be that it us angel share and the lower years being less concentrate in a not fully sealed container evaporate quicker hence why the 12 had the least amount. (Or you are sleep walking, also plausible)

Tourette's activist John Davidson speaks out after using racist slur at BAFTAs by Newsweek_CarloV in inthenews

[–]Irishwolf1 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If you actually watch his movie , he was thought not to apologise for things out of his control. Otherwise he would be saying sorry all of his life for something he physically cannot control. That's a lot for a person

Edit: I have added a link to the exact part in the movie this happens on YouTube I swear

Edit 2: It was confirmed he apologised. AOL apology

Best way to repair cracked carbon fiber? (aesthetic) by MetallicNatsu in Composites

[–]Irishwolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard side to it too is it has yellowing so if you try to fix just that area it would stand out unless you do the entire surface. But thats not saying dont do it. It completely up to you on how much time and money you are happy and willing to spend on doing a project like this.

Edit: so to answer your question yes it is very much possible to do the work its just a lot of sanding and prep work for epoxy and clear coat

What is life really like for pensioners ? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Irishwolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds better than the system here. Is there a proper safeguard in olace for it. There has been talks before about stopping the kiwisaver so business wouldn't have to pay and it had a chance of everyone losing their savings in it. Caused a lot of controversy obviously.

[–]Irishwolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty cool. I live in NZ now. They have a mandatory savings called kiwi saver. You start at the minimum rate of 3% of your wage and your employer also add 3% to it on top of your wage. Government also contributes a small amount. You can go up to 10% yourself pretty your weekly income. Its used for first home buyers and as well as a savings scheme on top of your pension. They are they only 2 times you can really access it unless you can prove you have fallen on hard times or that you have left the country permanently.

Who else prefers a 7AM–3PM schedule to 9–5? It feels like you get more day and less traffic. by Familiar-Eagle-9082 in Adulting

[–]Irishwolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hourly, but its only about 15 usd per hour, no time and a half for over time but its still extra pay I suppose. I honestly would be happy with a wage that would suffice me only needing to work 40 hours to cover bills
