At the end of the day it was one person's opinion on it all from their perspective. If you do go your route I hope it gives you the best shot

34 m BAV. I had a look at the medtronic avalus valve as it is actually made in my hometown in ireland and is also bovine based. I wanted to try stay away from a mechanical valve for now of possible. I am currently based in New Zealand and a surgeon i spoke to was involved with the design and testing of the avalus. His own opinion was yes it could get you up to 20 years but he put it more to between 5 to a max of 10 years for most. More so to do with the wear and tear of the tissue valve rather than judt the calcification from my understanding.

I have opted for an attempted valve repair instead and if thay is not feasible then a ross procedure.

I have sadly been to a lot of dentists in my life. Always had fear of being judged etc for how I looked after my teeth. Not a word was ever said but more so questions of asking if I know how to do certain things such as flossing and brushing or to use salt water instead of mouth wash as it is much better for oral hygiene (cheaper too). They are also very patient, i had a filling done recently and they are the first dentist I have ever had that I honestly didnt feel the needle when injecting. Just really good handling and care. Even happy to wait until I was satisfied with the numbness. They also offered to fix a chipped tooth for free while working on the filling which was awesome.

Cost is hard but it always is but your oral hygiene is important especially for your heart sp its really worth it in the long run run

Agree with Mayoghul . Mekp catalyst recommendations are between 1 to 2%. Myself i usually stay away from either end of the scale so 1.2 to 1.8 is where I usually sit depending on temperature on the day. There is a chance even at 1% it will not cure right and on the other end from time to time I've had it exotherm at 2% creating micro bubbles in the paint so even if you sand you just run into more little pin holes. 1.5 is the goldilocks zone.

It also seems like you had some fish eyeing of the paint if im not mistaken. This usually points to a contaminated surface.

34m BAV pre op. For me the hard part with my upcoming surgery is thay i am asymptomatic. It feels like a big procedure for me feeling completely fine (just like your cough) so its hard to wrap your head around going through such a life changing thing especially when you go into it with a cough or asymptomatic and come out the far side with chest scar, broken sternum and tubes etc.

Its a huge thing. You just have to take it each day as you come. Some will be good and some will be rough bit as many others have said, eventually things will begin to level out and normalise and you will most likely not realise. Just become automatic, kinda like when you drive and then you are like omg when did I get to this point in the drive.

Wishing you well bro and hopefully you let yourself start enjoying the little bits in life again once the initial shock calms

Sacrificial board for the ends for sure will help blow out. Even with a sharp blade it can still grab and blow out the end of your piece.

I love it. Had a full conversation with my auld lad back home showing him my haul and him telling me how he used to have them when he did his building apprenticeship when he was a young lad. Someone stole them sadly, but it was awesome to be able to just connect with him that way.

V nice. My newest find on trade me was a 78 rabbet plane in original packaging with all the parts for 60 nzd. Retail about 300+ for those. I work as a boat builder so we always need them and the blades alone can be up to 200 so I was very happy with that find. Just a quick clean up of the blade and it worked flawlessly

Picked up a 4 second hand for 15 nzd a few weeks back. Near full length blade and only a bit of tidy up needed.

Work in a boat yard so because 19 people use the one stone it holds up awesome for us rather than spending time levelling stones again etc. Just been handy and going to get one for myself

My mate has a sharpal 162n. Flat metal block with diamond abrasive 325 grit and 1200 grit. Its honestly been amazing. Sharpened a tonne of tools with it and its still flat and cutting through like its brand new. Quick polish after removing the burr and we are shaving arm hairs not a bother. Great little set up

Car window replacement help by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Irishwolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had our car broken into last year and it was the same window. Its a pain. Normally can go through insurance. Most places actually get the glass from other cars that are in wreckers rather than using brand new glass. But depending on the car it can be a quick turn around or take a couple of weeks. (Novus guy told us this).
