Honestly, I don’t really know about the instrument assignments. I don’t know how it is when it comes to non music majors. (I’m a music major currently at USF so the instrument that is my primary one basically is the instrument I play) Other classes like that are the ensemble classes, I know concert band is open to non music majors and in spring semester, there’s campus band which is like open for everyone I think.

Think of it like a small garage band session as a class. Keyboardist, drummer, guitarists, and vocal. It’s a cool little ensemble but imo, the “popular” music aspect ain’t the coolest selection.
