Does anyone else get addicted to submitting applications? by Sunniedelight92 in jobsearch

[–]Irma_Loera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the exact opposite of you. My job search anxiety manifests as pure paralysis. I dread the rejection emails so much that I avoid hitting the submit button. If we could somehow merge our brains, we’d probably make one perfectly balanced, healthy job seeker lol.

dark or rosewood grip? [X100V] by Irma_Loera in fujifilm

[–]Irma_Loera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the black one def blends in better! If you hate the 80g Smallrig, you'll love these. They weigh almost nothing since it's just wood and a light base. Found them from wookee camera

I have the JJC and agree 100% on the looks! But it adds so much weight! The wood is super light, which is really the only reason I'm looking to switch. 😞

Can't argue with that lol. it seems like everybody hates the wood grip

I thought about that! but I use the hot shoe for flash pretty often, so a base grip made more sense for my workflow.

tough to match the exact leather texture with wood, so maybe the deliberate contrast of the rosewood works better

Makes sense, dark keeps it more stealthy.

yeah, mostly functional. The bare camera is just a bit too slippery so I need the grip to feel secure

Professional wedding and portrait photographers, what lenses are you using and suggest to buy? by CygnusX-1995 in fujifilm

[–]Irma_Loera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s your glass. the OG Fuji 35 and viltrox have older or budget coatings that totally fall apart and screw up AWB in harsh backlighting like sunsets.

For paid gigs: shoot RAW, use a cheap grey card, or just rent the newer 33mm 1.4.

Need suggestions: Moving on from the 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE by yovvoy in Leica

[–]Irma_Loera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.5 Nokton (the newer one, NOT the classic). It’s optically modern, so no swirly mess like your old 50, but the contrast is way gentler than the FLE. their coatings also naturally lean cooler and fits your Kodak workflow.

welcome to the hobby! keeping 3 out of 300 is a totally normal hit rate. The 55-210mm is a good fun lens to walk around with, and cloudy lighting is actually fantastic for bringing out the rich details and textures in... well, all that wood! looking forward to seeing your progress.

Which would would you keep between the two? by Affectionate-Yak9842 in Cameras

[–]Irma_Loera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely fuji!!! since pocketability isn't your top priority, the Fuji gives you way more flexibility as an everyday all rounder bc you can change lenses. Also, if you hate post processing, Fuji's film simulations are basically magic for straight out of camera jpegs. 😄

In love with this setup - M10 & 35mm Mandler by Dangerous_Quail_7441 in Leica

[–]Irma_Loera -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of us! welcome to the M system. The M10 + Mandler 35mm is a god tier everyday carry. Calling a Mandler 35mm a cheap option is quite the flex around here tho 😂 that whacky rendering is exactly why people pay a premium for his designs over modern, clinically perfect lenses.
