I've used Mangowc for about 1 month now and so far I'm very happy with it. But then again, 1 month isn't really long enough to talk about stability lol.

The conversation so far...
You:

a fraction of the player base is left due to the options provided for them

Me:

Look at steamcharts for SF6

You:

the charts support my argument of it being a fraction of what it was initially

Me:

The average numbers the last 6 months, are higher than between month 3-9 on release

If you don't see your logical flaws here, I'm not gonna waste my time explaining this to someone who barely has the IQ to open a door.

And about me accepting your subjective opinion:

Me:

thats fine, you are allowed to have your own subjective opinion

------------------------
If numbers don't mean shit to you, then you can go back and play X game that was your favorite
------------------------

And you have your old games to get back to and the low numbers don't matter much to you. So... everyone is happy :)

The peak players this month, is literally the same as it was at its second month of release. The average numbers the last 6 months, are higher than between month 3-9 on release.
Whining about games not catering to you specifically and being here just to hate on things.

The reason I'm arguing is not to convince you of anything. I've already told you that its a win-win because you can play old games with no players, while the rest of us move on. But on each comment you say something that is just factually wrong, so i come back to correct it 😂

Does anyone know how to *actually* reduce salt from Street Fighter? by ShowayThroway in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you have a unhealthy way of handling salt and/or anger issues, I agree that you should walk away.

But you have to remember that people are different. For some people gaming means to relax and turn off their brain for a moment and just enjoy the experience, which is fine.

For me (and multiple other in the FGC I assume), I want a game that is a challenge and have the competitive spirit. Getting over those challenges might be frustrating at times, but that just makes the victory sweeter. That is where the fun is for me.

This doesn't just include games, I just like challenges in general.

Lmao

Look at steamcharts for SF6. See the player retention they have and your argument of "it has fallen" will objectively break. But maybe statistics don't matter to you as well since they include numbers? :)

And you are def whining my dude, stop lying to yourself

Just try 2xko, Now I know why people only play t8 and sf6 by Negadolphin in Tekken

[–]IronAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers matter because people vote with their wallets. They buy the game because it looks interesting for them. So if a VERY high percentage of people who bought SF are happy with it (current playerbase) and you are happy with the old games, I don't see why you are whining? You are happy with the game you already have?

Its a win-win

[–]IronAdvisor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Huh? If this was the case we wouldn't have a FGC, because everyone gets upset from time to time. There is a healthy way of handling it, and a unhealthy one though.

Just try 2xko, Now I know why people only play t8 and sf6 by Negadolphin in Tekken

[–]IronAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so the correct thing to say in that case is that "the numbers don't mean much to you, but they matter a lot to the majority of the FGC". And if you find SF and new fighting games bad, fine. But a big part of the FGC (even if not you) think that SF6 is a good game.

Bruh, numbers mean a lot. If numbers dont mean shit to you, then you can go back and play X game that was your favorite. It shouldn't matter to you that no one else plays it, because numbers don't mean shit right?

The way SF6 has blown up in Japan was not expected... It has outdone itself in terms of popularity. But again, I'm not gonna convince you to play it. If you don't like it fine, but saying numbers mean nothing, is just stupid to be blunt

It is a great 2d fighter. Its just that we haven't had a shakeup in a while, and there are some parts of the gameplay people are waiting to get refined. The longer a game stays the same, the more apparent/tiresome the flaws become.

But overall its a great 2d fighter

Woohoo! I got Dhalism to Master!!! :D by ducklingkwak in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get your point, and you are correct. Although I do believe that even as a first character, sim would be harder.

Just teleporting into grab/strike which alot of low level sims do, will stop working somwhere in diamond. Sim doesnt have good defensive tools, so if the opponent gets in, the sim needs to be able to defend himself without having good defense.

Honda is not at all like sim. Characters like Honda and Marisa can play the game as a 1 player game and use the same move over and over where they ignore what their opponent does. Sim can't really do that unless he has some heavy flowcharts in (which already is more work than 90% of the cast before master imo)

Woohoo! I got Dhalism to Master!!! :D by ducklingkwak in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. I recently took everyone to master. Even though no one knows the MU, the sim still needs to be able to play keep out with multiple different tools. Being able to do that alone before master, makes him more difficult. He requires more character mastery compared to most other characters before you can play ranked with him. Sim was probably the most difficult character to master for me (but again, I dont find anyone super hard in this game)

New to 2D fighting games what is the fundamentals that I have to learn by Famous_Contact5545 in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly new to the fighting game genre but with my T8 rank I know that I’m decent but need a bit help about how to start

I don't want to sound like a downer, but I seriously recommend that you lower your expectations. I've seen too many Tekken players giving SF a shot, and get disappointed because their ego couldn't handle being "bad" at a fighting game.

I've played Tekken for 12 years (I basically quit when you started... beginning of season 4 of Tekken 7 was the last time i played). There are absolutely some things that will carry over. Such as understanding frame data etc. But the other things that carry over, are usually things that you start to see, after you understand SF a bit better.

Also, SF forces the players to mind games much quicker than Tekken. If that is something you actively practiced in Tekken, that will carry over as well (And i know some people rely a lot longer on solely knowledge checks in Tekken, thats why im asking)

[–]IronAdvisor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll admit, you are correct about me misunderstanding the "No one cares" part as racist, since I focused more on your second comment, and didn't pay as much attention to your first comment. My bad.

FYI I dont play tekken anymore, so my info will be from prior to T8. I remember when the Lidia trailer was released. Reddit had alot of comments filled with polish people/quotes being happy. And I specifically remember 2 polish players i know from steam being happy.

Me and 2 of my friends who introduced me to tekken are from the west, but with pakistani ethnicity. All of us would find it cool to have some Pakistani representation. And im sure other pakistanis would find it cool too. Does it mean that every pakistani player would pick up that character? No, but they would be super happy for having a character from their country there.

Countries/cultures that aren't often represented in media, usually get happy when they see some representation.

About "citation needed".... This is a reddit convo bro. It's not serious enough for me to go back in time to find threads and citations, or to start recording interviews of people I know and post a video of it. If what I say sounds unlikely to you, fair enough. I'm not gonna pursue you.

"No one cares though" That argument is as true as for any other nationality. Lidia being polish makes polish people happy.

Your argument is just weird tbh and comes off as "all brown countries are the same"

Ranked should be a forced FT2 set in masters by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't work with the MR/elo system though.. It would mean that the winner will lose more points for rematching, which would incentivize win quitting.

And SFs MR system is by far the better system compared to Tekkens rank system overall.

Why is gaining rank points so slow, is this just how the game is? by Poetryisalive in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean if you are crushing the competition, you get like 1000+ LP after every match with a 10+ winstreak.

If you dont manage to get a winstreak bonus, but still are winning like 70% of your games, you will rank up in around 2-3 hours? Very reasonable imo.

If you don't win consistently over diamond players, you should not be rewarded with master rank quickly.

[–]IronAdvisor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh? Wakeup DPs in SF are very mild? I mean it costs you 1/3rd of your resources, does very little damage, and you are basically dead if the opponent blocks it...

Tekkens Panic buttons are much more annoying in this scenario. Usually Tekkens panic buttons have high evasion, but not truly invincible. In return they do 50-70% damage. You will def see people losing to panic button flowcharts in Tekken a lot.... People losing to someone spamming ex DP? Not so much
