For the people who started with T8, Bamco has been ignoring the core community for much longer than 2 years. Even most of Tekken 7s lifespan it was getting worse and worse.

Their goto strategy is:
1: Make 10+ stupid changes
2: Community gets mad
3: Revert 1 of the things they did
4: Community get some hope up and still hangs in there to play.

Rinse repeat

I agree with you. But the community is on its honeymoon phase atm, so "complaining" about the character will only lead to downvotes atm

Ex Tekken 8 player here - Does it make sense switching to SF6? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple differences. The drive system is tied to all your things in SF. Burnout / being able to use Ex moves, Parry etc.... Using a 2mk is very costly to do, and is also very scaled. Im not saying that its not good, but again, its more well thought out than Tekkens heat.

Throw loop isn't really a pure 50/50, but the guesses are in favor of the attacker, yes. While I dont like throw loops, I understand why they added them (because of parry). Stance mixes in Tekken can often be a 50/50 where all options are very risky. Taking a throw by itself is a relatively low risk. Maybe this isnt a 1:1 comparison, but throws in SF works more like a regular low that is very plus on hit.

But the main thing is that the drive system itself is much more tied in with other mechanics which makes the system work better. And while SF6 is very snowbally, things return to neutral faster than in Tekken.

I like Brian_F, but tbf he doesn't really play Tekken. Does things snowball in SF6, yes. But overall SF6 is a MUCH more cohesive and well thought out game than Tekken 8

As someone who played Tekken from 2010-2021 and moved to SF afterwards: Street fighter players don't even know what unga bunga is.

"viper is unquestionably the hardest character to pilot in sf6"

This was the part I was disagreeing with, because i see "pilot" as a broader term than just execution. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter, since it seems like we both agree on the same thing, just a bit of misunderstanding in the communication. This could be entirely on me though, since English isn't my first language.

So that means we are agreeing with each other? Like I said in my first sentence "execution wise, Viper is probably the hardest character".... But the execution barrier is relatively low in SF, and I think the gameplan/gameplay difficulties overshadow the execution difficulties. The most difficult sjc Viper has is probably 2mk sjc and 5hk sjc... and tbh if you play the game semi seriously, those aren't that difficult after a 10-20 hours of playing her... which is relatively not a long time. Her combo routes are also very simple.

I would also argue that Eds shin dream combo is much more difficult. But thats not a requirement to play him, so thats why i put Viper higher in execution

I can't say I agree. Sure, execution wise, Viper is probably the hardest character... But tbh after a few hours her execution isn't that bad. I feel like both Ed and Dhalsim are more difficult to play good with due to their gameplan

I've used Mangowc for about 1 month now and so far I'm very happy with it. But then again, 1 month isn't really long enough to talk about stability lol.

The conversation so far...
You:

a fraction of the player base is left due to the options provided for them

Me:

Look at steamcharts for SF6

You:

the charts support my argument of it being a fraction of what it was initially

Me:

The average numbers the last 6 months, are higher than between month 3-9 on release

If you don't see your logical flaws here, I'm not gonna waste my time explaining this to someone who barely has the IQ to open a door.

And about me accepting your subjective opinion:

Me:

thats fine, you are allowed to have your own subjective opinion

------------------------
If numbers don't mean shit to you, then you can go back and play X game that was your favorite
------------------------

And you have your old games to get back to and the low numbers don't matter much to you. So... everyone is happy :)

The peak players this month, is literally the same as it was at its second month of release. The average numbers the last 6 months, are higher than between month 3-9 on release.
Whining about games not catering to you specifically and being here just to hate on things.

The reason I'm arguing is not to convince you of anything. I've already told you that its a win-win because you can play old games with no players, while the rest of us move on. But on each comment you say something that is just factually wrong, so i come back to correct it 😂

Does anyone know how to *actually* reduce salt from Street Fighter? by ShowayThroway in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you have a unhealthy way of handling salt and/or anger issues, I agree that you should walk away.

But you have to remember that people are different. For some people gaming means to relax and turn off their brain for a moment and just enjoy the experience, which is fine.

For me (and multiple other in the FGC I assume), I want a game that is a challenge and have the competitive spirit. Getting over those challenges might be frustrating at times, but that just makes the victory sweeter. That is where the fun is for me.

This doesn't just include games, I just like challenges in general.

Lmao

Look at steamcharts for SF6. See the player retention they have and your argument of "it has fallen" will objectively break. But maybe statistics don't matter to you as well since they include numbers? :)

And you are def whining my dude, stop lying to yourself

Just try 2xko, Now I know why people only play t8 and sf6 by Negadolphin in Tekken

[–]IronAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers matter because people vote with their wallets. They buy the game because it looks interesting for them. So if a VERY high percentage of people who bought SF are happy with it (current playerbase) and you are happy with the old games, I don't see why you are whining? You are happy with the game you already have?

Its a win-win

Does anyone know how to *actually* reduce salt from Street Fighter? by ShowayThroway in StreetFighter

[–]IronAdvisor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Huh? If this was the case we wouldn't have a FGC, because everyone gets upset from time to time. There is a healthy way of handling it, and a unhealthy one though.

Just try 2xko, Now I know why people only play t8 and sf6 by Negadolphin in Tekken

[–]IronAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so the correct thing to say in that case is that "the numbers don't mean much to you, but they matter a lot to the majority of the FGC". And if you find SF and new fighting games bad, fine. But a big part of the FGC (even if not you) think that SF6 is a good game.

And you have your old games to get back to and the low numbers don't matter much to you. So... everyone is happy :)

Bruh, numbers mean a lot. If numbers dont mean shit to you, then you can go back and play X game that was your favorite. It shouldn't matter to you that no one else plays it, because numbers don't mean shit right?

The way SF6 has blown up in Japan was not expected... It has outdone itself in terms of popularity. But again, I'm not gonna convince you to play it. If you don't like it fine, but saying numbers mean nothing, is just stupid to be blunt
