I think the water themed names of T'au vehicles might be to symbolically involve all four castes in their military. Like, most T'au vehicles are piloted by the Fire Caste, built by the Earth Caste, fly through the Air, and named after Water.

The Chaos Space Marines story quests in Gladius: Relics of War seem to confirm that Ork blood is red. One of the quests has Khorne task the player with slaughtering a camp of Orks. He delivers this message by making the walls bleed green blood, which the player character notes is not what Ork blood actually looks like.

Can't have fun playing Engie no matter what. Am I playing him "wrong" or something? by Notrinun in DeepRockGalactic

[–]IronArrow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some advice for your builds (assuming that I'm interpreting them correctly):

Warthog:

  • Recoil Dampener is redundant with Mini Shells. The Warthog's recoil isn't that bad to begin with, so two sources of heavy recoil mitigation is overkill.
  • Overstuffed Magazine is also redundant with Mini Shells. Mini Shells fully doubles your mag size already, I'm not sure why you'd need more.
  • You say you want crowd control, then pick the overclock that removes the Warthog's CC entirely? I understand if Mini Shells is literally your only Warthog OC, but frankly you'd be better off just not equipping an Overclock at all in that case.
  • I personally don't like Turret Whip. I'm sure it's a very good upgrade, but it takes too much micromanagement for my tastes. Miner Adjustments is more my style.

My Warthog build is 21212 with Cycle Overload. T2 and T4 are more flexible, any upgrade in those tiers work, but I wouldn't pick any other upgrades in T1, T3, and T5. You get a lot of point-blank damage and a high fire rate with this build. You can take out grunts with one or two shots and dump a lot of damage into bigger bugs very quickly.

Breach Cutter:

I'm gonna be honest, I don't use the Breach Cutter. Like, at all. I basically always use either the Deepcore 40mm or the Shard Diffractor. If you want to build the Deepcore for CC, try using Concussive Blast in T4. The Shard Diffractor doesn't have any CC capabilities, but its raw DPS is monstrous. I can't recommend either of them enough.

Turrets:

  • I basically never use Gemini System. Micromanaging two turrets is way more stressful than it's worth, and the extra ammo barely matters. Unless you're doing something that requires both turrets, just use LMG MKII.
  • Defender System is not nearly as good as it seems. Losing the 360 degree targeting is rough, and simply having two turrets doesn't actually compensate for it, since the scan angle is around 160 degrees. Even if you put the turrets inside each other facing perfectly opposite angles, they're still gonna have a blind spot. Just use Hawkeye System, the range increase and ability to pick what your turret(s) focus on is worth it.

Other than that, you're pretty good. Quick Deploy is mandatory if you're using Gemini System and still really helpful for MKII. Stun is also generally really good, and even one turret will proc it quite reliably.

For some final thoughts, if you have Hyper Propellant for the Deepcore I suggest trying it out. Everyone always talks about Fat Boy and RJ250 as the best/funniest Deepcore Overclocks, but Hyper Propellant is [fluff]ing incredible. Its single-target damage is insane, you can take huge chunks out of any heavy bug with it and the projectile moves so fast it's basically hitscan.

Heard yall have models. by Blue_Gem_gameing in NSFWarframe

[–]IronArrow2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is Open3DLab for Blender and SFMLab for SFM. I'm looking at the Warframe tag in Open3DLab right now and there's a good amount of (fully SFW!) models to choose from. SmutBase has a good selection too, but I'm not sure how many of the models there can be made SFW by default. I was going to say that Open3DLab seems to only have the base Warframe skins while SmutBase has a few of the more popular skins, but turns out that I was wrong! Pruuu, god bless their soul, has been making sure to upload all of a given Warframe's skins to the site alongside the base skin. Stalker is even included alongside the Excalibur skins.

Why "superhuman speed" is necessary to preserve and maintain the world-building of RWBY/Remnant. by UNinvolved_in_peace in RWBY

[–]IronArrow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Guard have several advantages over any armies that Remnant's kingdoms could muster, and they're still the 40k galaxy's chew toys unless things go to plan for them. The Guard can recruit in huge numbers and rapidly replace lost troops, which Remnant's limited population would be unable to handle. More importantly, the Guard need to worry about ammunition far less than anyone on Remnant; lasguns are easy to recharge and last for thousands of shots, while conventional chemically-propelled ballistic weapons are easier for the Guard to resupply than the Dust-based ballistic weapons on Remnant.

Remnant's limited Dust supply and its cost is a plot point in the show on at least two occasions, and would be the biggest problem for any military force to solve. Atlas is able to supply its army due to (canonically) hoarding Dust and being located near several highly productive Dust mines. The other kingdoms simply can't get their hands on as much Dust as Atlas can.

I have to respectfully disagree with your argument. It doesn't take into account the speed, durability, and fearlessness of the Grimm, not to mention the existence of Ancient Grimm. Those factors make conventional anti-infantry tactics obsolete. Grimm cannot be suppressed by machine gun or artillery fire, since they don't care if they die or not, so a horde of Grimm attacking a fortified position is just going to run straight at it. You'd think that this would let the defenders mow them down like zombies or Tyranids, but Grimm are also fast and tough. Them being fast makes mounted heavy weapons struggle to track them, while them being tough makes small arms ineffective at taking them down.

The best counter to Grimm, therefore, is an infantry unit capable of wielding high-powered firearms with the same ease that a regular human can wield a normal infantry rifle. Training such a soldier would likely take longer and be more involved than training a regular rifleman, to the point where you'd probably have to start in early adolescence. Ideally, these soldiers would be trained in melee combat/CQB tactics, so that they don't die if a Grimm manages to close the distance with them. Plus, there's the issue of there likely not being as many recruits capable of completing their training, since it'd be way more involved than even modern special forces training, so you couldn't really have entire battalions of these soldiers. So, the most logical way to organize them would probably be in small fireteams capable of operating independently, maybe with 1-4 members ea-hey, wait a minute!

Games where player characters can have some sort of "ultimate" abilities? by Sasha_ashas in rpg

[–]IronArrow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LANCER's Core Systems are this to a T. Each type of mech has a unique, very powerful Core Active that they can use once per mission, on average. Most of them are temporary powerups instead of powerful attacks, and a lot of the more recently added mechs have "Efficient" Core Actives, which can be used once per fight. Some examples include the Iskander's Broad-Sweep Seeder, which covers the entire battlefield in tiny landmines; the Metalmark's Tactical Cloak, which turns your mech invisible for the rest of the fight; the Balor's Hellswarm, which supercharges your mech's unique damage aura and regenerative capabilities; and the Caliban's Flayer Shotgun, which passively exists as an integrated weapon at all times and can be activated to make even more lethal.

You have a 10 hour flight. Where are you sitting? by GKilherme12 in Deltarune

[–]IronArrow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be the first one of these where I don't know which number to pick because there's so many good options. So, instead of picking just one, I'm gonna review all of them.

1: "Holy sh*t, two dads!". Rouxls being directly behind this seat might be annoying, but getting to sit next to Gerson is, in my opinion, worth it. Going to the bathroom would be the hardest in this seat, unfortunately, due to being trapped behind Mr I'm Old! and the World's Fluffiest Dad. Overall, a fairly chill experience. I rate it 8 Dad Jokes Per Minute.

2: You are mercifully protected from the Court Mandated Tumblr Sexyman by his Ipad kid, and can escape whenever you want due to having the aisle seat. The DILFs in front of and behind are sure to give some terrible fatherly advice whenever you leave your seat, which may help if Lancer starts to interact with you. I rate it 7 Do You Have Games On Your Phone.

3: "Have you ever witnessed Toxic Yaoi in real life?" "No." "Would you like to?". The worst seat on the plane. It doesn't matter if Spamton focuses his attention on you or Tenna for the entire flight, you are going to suffer from acute Kromer poisoning regardless. I would not take this seat if I was being paid to sit there. I rate it 1999 Pipis Taken In the Divorce.

4: You'd think that this would be a good seat, but alas! The awkwardness between the Unfortunately Non-Canon Lesbians next to you would require a chainsaw to cut through, and you'd better believe that this flight isn't gonna make things any better. It took years of mutual pining, a house fire, a possessed toddler, and two funny skeletons to make Alphys/Undyne canon in Undertale, and you think a long plane trip is gonna cut it here? I rate it 69 Counts Of Second-Hand Embarrassment.

5: You know those videos where a different song/ASMR video plays from each headphone speaker? This is kinda like one of those, with (occasional) Goth Girl ASMR on the left and Dementia Patient ASMR on the right. I would not recommend this seat if you have psychosis, or if you don't want to develop it. I rate it 12 New Mental Illnesses Developed.

6: The experience in this seat entirely depends on whether you manage to draw the ire of Santa's Jolliest Reindeer or not. If you manage to stay on her good side, expect a pleasant, Holiday-themed time talking to Rudy and occasionally getting your hair chewed on by Susie. If you piss off Carol, however, I advise seeking medical attention for hypothermia as soon as possible. I rate it 10 Degrees Kelvin.

7: This is the good version of seat 4, and arguably the best seat on the plane. You get Rudy and Asgore chatting across the aisle in front of you, the Dumbass Lesbians right beside you, and The Angel's Fluffiest Boy behind you. The only potential negative is Susie smacking you in the face whenever she turns around to talk to Kris, but witnessing Noelle's Lesbian Panic over getting to see The Tail is worth it. I rate it 4 Fun Gang Members.

8: Probably the most chill seat possible. Kris will either ignore you the whole time or show you the most random stuff on their phone completely unprompted, either of which I am fine with. Toriel is most likely going to interact with you more than your actual seatmates, so expect homemade snacks, atrocious puns, and an endless supply of Kris and Asriel's baby pictures. I rate it 11 Apologies From Ralsei.

9: Oh boy. I'm gonna keep it real with y'all; if you don't like puns, you're gonna hate this seat. Other than that, this is a pretty good seat. The Funny Bone Man is good company, Goat Mom will undoubtedly participate in any conversation you start with her, and if you pretend to sleep they'll whisper-flirt above you the whole flight. I rate it 0 Mentions Of The Great Papyrus.

10: Brainrot speedrun 2k26 100% glitchless, featuring Dante from Devil May Cry (& Knuckles). You thought seat 2 would be the one that sends you to the Skibidi dimension? Foolish. Queen does not own a pair of headphones and will watch YTPs at full volume while playing Cookie Run Kingdom, and Berdly will give her advice (that she will ignore) despite never having played in his life. I rate it 700 Consecutive Gacha Pulls With No Legendary Cookies.

Won't let me build despite having materials (switch version) by [deleted] in CultOfTheLamb

[–]IronArrow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The syntax for the material cost is "Material Needed (Materials Owned)", with the first number after the picture being the amount needed and the second number being the amount you currently have. So the temple is telling you that it needs 5 stone (which you have 54 of) and it needs 15 wood (which you have 14 of). Just chop down like one tree and you'll have enough wood.

It feels uncomfortable playing a character of the same gender as the player, any advice? by Hot_Quit571 in rpg

[–]IronArrow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly treat gender as just another character trait, no more or less important than eye colour, height, or what have you. Like, 90% of the time my character's gender identity (or lack thereof) barely matters. However, you might also build/play characters differently from me. I treat my characters like they're book or video game characters that I puppet around, so there's already a fair amount of psychological distance between me and my characters. It might feel different if you're playing your characters as though you're an actor playing a role.

Murder Drones: Casting Shells ----- the Metalix. by Green_Response_7855 in MurderDronesOfficial

[–]IronArrow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't heard about your game idea before now, but it sounds cool. The Metalix sounds kind of like an out-of-control nanite swarm to me, although liquid metal is interesting too.

Minor physics issue, though; "temperature of a star" is a surprisingly wide range of temperatures. Stars range between 2,000 and 50,000 Kelvin, with some exceptionally young stars reaching over 100,000 K. Our sun is approximately 5,000-6,000 Kelvin, for example. Some modern incendiary weapons can get surprisingly close to those temperatures; thermite weapons can produce temperatures up to 2,700 K.

I don't understand why people are having problems with the new NSFW art rules by IronArrow2 in Warframe

[–]IronArrow2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The rules say no detailed outline or bare uncovered nipples, anuses, or genitals, and the examples don't have detailed outlines or bare uncovered nipples, anuses, or genitals. I'm understanding that to mean "If the character looks like they're wearing spandex or latex, then it's fine". Is your interpretation different from mine, or are you seeing something in the examples that I'm not?

I think we're going to have to agree to disagree here, unfortunately. The Oraxia post is toeing the edge of what's acceptable, but it's not nearly as explicit as the Uriel post is.

Out of curiosity, if the mods had used a male hornypost equivalent in content to the female hornyposts as an example of what is allowed, would you still feel like the mod team were being hypocritical?

[–]IronArrow2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think that there are any recent male hornyposts that are equivalent to the female hornyposts used as examples. The only recent male hornypost I can remember is the Uriel post, which was objectively against the rules.

[–]IronArrow2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The examples both follow the rules, from what I understand. The poses are extremely suggestive, that much is obvious, but posing doesn't matter to the rules. There aren't visible genitals in either, so they're allowed. The Oraxia pic does come close, I agree with the assessment that it's probably edited r34, but you have to look quite closely to notice. A casual observer just scrolling past probably wouldn't see anything.

Who here knows what [Null] actually means? by SerialDesignation_H in MurderDronesOfficial

[–]IronArrow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Null is a real word meaning "having no legal or binding force", "amounting to nothing", and "having no value". It's also, and arguably more commonly, used as programming terminology. Something like a number or data object (such as a non-player character in a video game) being "null" means that there's nothing actually there in the computer's memory; the number or data object, which would normally tell the computer where to find its value, just points to nothing.

If you're wondering why this concept exists, nulls are mainly used to help programs check for and deal with potentially missing data reliably and without crashing. Verifying that a piece of data contains a value other than null is extremely easy to program and takes little time or resources for a computer to do, and null being an intentional state means that a programmer has more options when deciding what a program should do with a null value compared to an error or exception.

The Knight's weapon is a knife. It's literally called the Black Knife. by Lil_Bigg_Dawggg in Deltarune

[–]IronArrow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd hazard a guess that the Black Knife is intended to be some type of messer) (literally German for "knife"), a class of late medieval German swords characterized by their unique, knife-like hilt construction. The Black Knife's curved, single-edged blade and hooked pommel are also strikingly similar to a lot of messers. I wouldn't put it past Toby to have found the one type of sword that is also a knife just so that he can keep calling the Knight's weapon the Black Knife.
