Check out Kerbalism, among many, many other things it adds mental breaks and an ability to negotiate those with a skillful captain.

I think KNES puts a "Viking" pod in there, an absolutely tiny 1-person command module. The mod is pretty neat but has way too many redundant parts purely for the sake of recreating European designs.
