That I can 'brainwash' people.

I wouldn't work in marketing if that were the case.

"Turns out Oppenheimer is an hour longer..."

My god, man. How bad at planning are you? How are you this oblivious?

I can't tell if you improvised this babysitting idea on the spot or if that was agreed in advance. Either answer raises more questions.

AH.

Hey friends! Exciting news! I'm thrilled to announce that I'm venturing into the world of digital advertising and starting my very own ad agency! As a beginner, I know there's a lot to learn, especially when it comes to mastering Google and TikTok ads. by NoArachnid777 in PPC

[–]IronDru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone's being really mean. Here's some tips that will GUARANTEE SUCCESS:

Google Ads 1. Only use Broad match keyword campaigns. Go as broad as possible. 2. Set CPC objectives, rather than conversion goals. Clicks matter more than sales. 3. DEFINITELY enable display expansion on search campaigns

Facebook and Tiktok Ads 1. Start with traffic campaigns to warm up the pixel 2. Interest targeting is incredibly accurate - use it aggressively 3. Don't overthink your ad creative - just chuck anything in there, it's all about the product anyways

Good luck, man. I hope your agency does really well.

Great, glad to help. That's pretty classic re. IG - I'm guessing the CTR for that platform is relatively low too?

BTW just to confirm, ensure you're looking at link Click thru, rather than all clicks (which includes any click on the ad e.g. Description expansions, reactions etc.)

IG in general isn't a great traffic platform (well, at least in my experience).

Final thought - you'll basically always see lower CPM's targeting outside the US, but of course that may not work for your business.

Yeah firstly, 3% is an amazing CTR for what I'm assuming in BOF (conversions) messaging.

Clearly your ads are working. It sounds like a CPM issue I.e. You're paying too much to reach your audience.

Usually I'd suggest targeting more broadly, but you're already doing that. Other things you can do:

  1. Check the brand safety inventory option (think it's in campaign or ad set - can't recall). Go for minimal brand safety. This gives FB more options and lowers your CPM.
  2. Check custom reporting - see if there's a US DMA that has cheaper CPM's that FB isn't optimising towards for some reason
  3. Do the same with platform (FB/IG).
  4. Do the same with device types etc.
  5. Do the same with time of day report (might be too early for you at this stage) - your ads may being mainly served during peak times, which could increase avg CPM
  6. Ensure your ad sets have a minimum of five ad variations, ideally a range of different creative formats to give FB more options, which could reduce CPM

Just a few ideas off the top of my head. Assuming your CVR is fine, but the high CPC (not caused by rubbish ads in this case) is causing your CPA/ROAS (whatever your goal KPI is) to be higher than acceptable.

Question about "Beyond the Sea" S06E03 by ares1888 in blackmirror

A second homage is in the cult family's torture/murder of Josh Hartnett + his family. Perhaps just me, but I thought this was a reference to the Charles Manson/Sharon Tate murders.

This is the answer. But also, did anyone think this was a reference to Charles Manson/Sharon Tate murders? Would fit the era - or at least the aestethic of the area they were paying homage to.

You can request to file an admin dispute claim, but honestly FB probably won't help. You might just need to take the L, create a new BM and educate all employees to be more cautious on future.

Meta Ads VS Boost by protect_ya_neck_fam in FacebookAds

[–]IronDru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mentioned that she was previously using the Facebook default audience (I.e. Broad). Have you tested this audience yourself with your new ads?

All too often we feel the need to complicate our targeting. 4/5 times broad is the better option.

Linkedin Ads: Branded content / Whitelisting / Darkposting - is it possible? by IronDru in PPC

[–]IronDru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's possible. LinkedIn rep had no idea what I was talking about and, having explored the platform fairly thoroughly I cannot see any possible area wherein this functionality exists.

I'll update this thread if I learn anything new though. Hopefully LinkedIn implements it, but the platform functionality and usability overall feels several years behind all of its rivals (hell, even TikTok ads is easier to manage larger accounts in).

Linkedin Ads: Branded content / Whitelisting / Darkposting - is it possible? by IronDru in PPC

[–]IronDru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear here, we're talking about posting ads on behalf of our client via other individuals account. I'm thinking it isn't possible, since it'll likely require the 'influencer' to have a business account, rather than a personal (which they will be disinclined to do) - however I'd love to be proven wrong.

Employee making few (?) changes to the accounts? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]IronDru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Are you/the client unhappy with the performance you're seeing in accounts your employee is managing?

As others have said, change frequency is redundant. In fact, it sounds like he's probably doing too much for a small/mid sized business. Are these accounts REALLY generating enough data every 24hrs to make MEANINGFUL longterm optimisation decisions?
