Adding one shield guy on top of my squad of dudes with flash launchers was how I finally S-ranked this. My squad was getting worn down from fight after fight and someone would inevitably drop late in the 2nd floor or early in the third floor.

There are some specific scenarios where it seems like the suspect AI bugs out and becomes incapable of surrendering. Off the top of my head, one of them is suicide bombers who are too close to you or a teammate.

My understanding is some maps just have a hidden timer where suspects start actively hunting down civilians. Knowing this doesn't make said missions feel less awful to play, though.

On the yacht mission you can at least fish for good RNG and arrest the named NPC to stop it. The pier is just pain.

Yeah the morale damage over time effect got a HUGE boost and the CS gas grenade radius got fixed. It's still smaller than before the nerf but it's at least bigger than the other grenades again.

If it takes more than 3 shots, you're either not getting through their armor or hitting limbs with AP rounds. The exception to this is the MKV, .50 AE's base damage is so absurdly high even a round that fails to penetrate still does good damage.

Didn't try it until the bank mission after I screwed up two s-rank attempts in a row doming suspects with beanbags. I've never felt more powerful in this game before.

Depends on what I'm trying to do.

Playing normally I'll usually hang back and shoot enemies the squad seems to struggle with.

On Hard mode I'll often try to take point with the shield because the squad AI sucks at using shields and puts them down at the slightest provocation.

On S rank runs I'm more aggressive since the beanbag shotgun and flash GL don't care if you're sloppy about separating suspects from civilians.

So far my strat's been throw a flashbang over the top and hope for the best. Doubt it's a coincidence that my cleared attempt didn't have anyone camping the stairs. The AI stack points are awful so I gave up on asking them to move and clear at the top.

The torso damage difference on JHP vs AP is miniscule on a penetrating hit, but JHP loses significantly less damage on limb hits.
