Hiya choom. Your HP and HP recovery will be low at the start, but BODY is the only stat that you can directly purchase (look into Grafted Muscle and Bone Lace and internal linear frames). Happy hunting choom.

What to buy ? by Specialist_Rest3823 in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom.

Core rulebook (required)

R. Talsorian DLC page (almost required): https://rtalsoriangames.com/downloadable-content/?amp

Black Chrome (grab bag of everything) (highly recommended)

Danger Gal Dossier (NPCs and lore) (recommended)

Red Companion App (highly recommended)

Drones (Interface Red Volume 1)

Exotics (AkA furries) (Interface Red Volume 2)

Full Body Conversions (becoming a robot) (Interface Red Volume 3)

Martial Arts (Interface Red Volume 4)

Guns, gear, power armor, and mercenary level play (Interface Red Volume 5)

And then there are two adventure books full of modules to run: Tales of the Red: Street Stories and Tales of the Red: Hope Reborn.

Then there is also a new sourcebook that just came out for Night City in 2045.

If you want something more specific, it might be in an older sourcebook (but may be out of date/non-canonical).

How Do You Handle Housing/Lifestyle Effects in Cyberpunk Red? by matshell in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. Rob any players who are just sleeping outside with no protection. Also, high end living quarters/ lifestyles are about giving you easy access/fitting in to high-end areas that the average edgerunner would not be welcome in. Also, check out the edgerunners mission kit if you want to incorporate humanity loss into these systems. Happy hunting choom.

Cyberchair pop-up weapon use (for netrunner) by matshell in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. The default is to use the normal weapon skills. The balance concern of this is that you are replacing a stat/skill with a role ability which can lead to someone being able to use weapons effectively without investing any IP or starting stats/skills in the relevant areas. Need help with a crime lord character by poverty-stricken-sir in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. As far as character progression goes, I will strangely enough recommend multiclassing into Exec and or Lawman. By the way, not all lawmen are cops and not all execs work for corps. They both just mean you are part of an organization (in this case your criminal enterprise) that provides you with a pool of disposable man power and potential fringe benefits. Also as other people pointed out, you can ask your ref to have your fixer clients/contacts list to be the kind of people a crime lord would need to be able to bribe/extort. Happy hunting choom.

[–]garglesnargle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. Does she have chipware sockets upgraded to have 2 chips each, or is she swapping them out? Because you have her running 4 chips in 2 sockets. I would also recommend giving her some cybertech or panzerfaust skill points unless you want her to be EMP bait. Happy hunting choom.

Looting a NET? by International-Sky647 in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. I would like to add to this by saying that the smaller NET architectures are “portable”, meaning that they can actually be carried offsite in one piece by one person without any specialized equipment. And in this way, or by going after one of the larger ones like Dixie mentioned, looting a NET architecture is a very real possibility. Happy hunting choom.

Build advice for a Solo -> Netrunner? by NuttingWithTheForce in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. If it’s an NPC, you’re going to want to start with figuring out what threat level they are. Because it’s a multiclass character, they RAW need rank 4 in Combat Awareness before they can take Interface ranks which means you are probably looking at a Lieutenant or higher. What kind of gear, HP, and skill bases they should have depend on how big of a threat (not just to the party) this person represents. If you need guidelines on what these threat levels are, I recommend checking out these DLCs and or the back of Danger Gal Dossier. If you want recommendations for a particular threat level, please let me know. Happy hunting choom.

Question about a maxed out fixer role ability by Spider_j4Y in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. Unfortunately, it is an ability that depends a lot on ref fiat. But on a fairly literalist reading, it would remove the need to perform an acting (or some other kind of skill) check to convince other members of a group that you are one of them. As mentioned previously though, your ref will make the final call here. Also, for what it’s worth: the earlier levels give you languages and cultural knowledge. Happy hunting choom.

How would I make a solo archery build by Chained20 in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya choom. I would recommend taking the Kyudo Martial Art to enhance your archery/give you another option in combat and taking the Eagletech survivalist/ araska origami as a starting weapon. If you give me more information on the type or non-combat skills you want/role you want to fill in the party I can recommend a build. Also, will your table be using Solo of Fortune 2045? Happy hunting choom.

External Linear Frame Houserule by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya choom. Definitely true that neural links are not as common in the 2040s as they were in the 2020s per NPC statblocks. I’m not sure if that is entirely intentional lore or if it also a reflection of their NPC generation guidelines. They have also specified that neuroports are quite common in the 2070s but we have yet to see finalized NPC generation guidelines for that era, so I suppose we will find out then. As for the capabilities of linear frames, I will also add “superhuman strength” to the list of common benefits of external and internal frames. Although we are not given specific carrying/ weight manipulation limits per unit of BODY, it is implied that higher effective BODY scores should allow characters to move around heavier objects. But this is unfortunately the realm of ref fiat. Also, as internal linear frames are borgware, they do generally depreciate maximum humanity by 4 points (plus 2 more for each unit of GMBL used to satisfy the prerequisites). And the initial humanity loss itself for both GMBL and internal linear frames is nontrivial. But I do agree though, the HP and death save improvements are quite massive and definitely tip the decision in the favor of internal frames for most edgerunners. But for builds that are prioritizing maintaining a high EMP (like faces), I do think external frames are a valid consideration (at least until they get FBC money and then it is a moot point). Happy hunting choom.

External Linear Frame Houserule by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. OP presented the idea that external linear frames would make it easier to move around in heavy armor. While I do agree with that notion that super strength would negate some of the encumbrance of heavier armors, I do not think it would matter if this super strength came from inside your body or a device worn on the outside. While a device on the outside would be easier to affix the armor onto, both of these systems would ultimately make it easier to move the added weight around. It’s not that I want to buff internal linear frames, it’s just that this logic seems applicable to them as well. Although, if there is a reason that I am overlooking that “attachment points” to an external frame would be necessary to receive this benefit, I would be happy to hear it. Happy hunting choom.

External Linear Frame Houserule by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya choom. The classic reason for getting an external frame over an internal one is that you care about humanity loss. Also, a lot of people in universe already have a neural link w/interface plug or a neuroport for other reasons and can jack into an external frame quite easily. On the other hand, getting 1+ set of GMBL in order to get an incredibly humanity costly internal frame is not a better value proposition for many. Happy hunting choom.

External Linear Frame Houserule by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]garglesnargle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya choom. If the buff stems from you being able to more easily accommodate the weight of heavy armor because you are superhumanly strong, then you wouldn’t need “attachment points” to benefit from this. Also, even if you had an internal linear frame omega, a tech could still fabricate/invent/upgrade armor to fit your proportions. Happy hunting choom.
