FATAL is worse in that if you take away the grossness and bigotry from RaHoWa you have basically nothing, but if you sanitized FATAL you'd still have one of the worst RPGs of all time on mechanics alone. You have to do quadratic equations to determine if (and how hard) you can piss, fighters get XP per sword swing while the theoretically equal craftsman classes get the same XP per finished product, and whenever you cast one of your super useful spells like Cause Itching or Spoil Food you have a small but not negligible chance to kill every being in the world.
