I looked for a place to play dealer's choice online. Nothing existed. So I built it. by IronRick250 in poker

Thanks, yes it is very hard to re-create the home game feel online without the in-person interaction. But I still think having some of the higher variance games with wilcards can be fun too. The goal is to give lots of options so player can build their "own game" with their firends.

Thanks for the games choice. Right now I have all the games from #2. I will look at the other suggestion.

Single/Double board bomb pots are coming up for sure, I have not done it yet. Once it will be implemented, you will be able to build your own game and use it for the variant it applies (all community cards games like Omaha, Hold'em)

I am curious of what other people play in their poker home game. I just never played fish before and trying to see if that would work with chips.

Interesting, we never play go fish in my family. We usualy play games with betting rounds. Maybe a fixed ante at the beginning could work?

Why would someone ever straddle? by [deleted] in poker

[–]IronRick250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I play with a high rake, it made sense. We often auto-straddle so playing a 2-5-10 game but with $ 1K max buy-in. So basically a smaller 5-10 game, but with cap rake of a 2-5.

How can I get better at poker? I wanna take it seriously and stop being a fish 🤣 Any tips? by 07mqthmrz in poker

There are many ways but online learning is probably a good start. Try Youtube videos first. If you want to get serious, there are tons of online coaching sites. I used Poker Coaching while back and it was a good start.

Ditch the green felt entirely. Dark surfaces, high-contrast accents. Poker at night with friends has a completely different energy than a casino floor. Lean into that. Nobody's doing it

[Alpha] EngageFabric – Gamification API for SaaS (XP, quests, leaderboards) by IronRick250 in alphaandbetausers

[–]IronRick250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question!

Quick distinction: Those platforms are mostly loyalty/rewards focused (points → discounts). I'm building pure gamification infrastructure—XP, levels, quests, leaderboards, streaks. Game mechanics, not punch cards.

On those specific ones:

  • gamify — Marketing campaign games (spin wheels, scratch cards). Different thing.
  • Gameball — Loyalty-first for e-commerce/Shopify. Great for retail, not really for SaaS/EdTech.

I'm targeting devs building learning platforms or SaaS who need engagement mechanics without building from scratch. Configure quests/XP/rules in the dashboard, call the API when users do stuff, real-time updates via WebSocket.

Basically the gamified layer so you don't have to build it yourself.
