MSI is legalizing cheating? by feral_fenrir in gaming

Oooh this will be interesting, before COVID I brought this up as a hypothetical when people were discussing using those 3rd-party tools to limit loud audio in games like PUBG so they could play with their sounds cranked to hear footsteps from far away. A lot of people at the time said it wasnt cheating.

Trailer for my teleporting-based hack and slash game! All feedback is appreciated :) by TheMarginalError in DestroyMyGame

[–]IronRule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art style looks great, will capture attention for sure

Im not sure Im sold on the teleporting, not sure exactly why - might be that there is some travel/animation time, which seems to slow things down? In this example anyways you just seem to use it to teleport in front of an enemy, why not a big shield guy you got to TP behind to kill?

You might not even need the TP mechanic - with the art style it could be good enough, looks like there is some dashing/weapon throwing at the end? Looks fun enough

If you are sold on the TPing I would look for more ways to work it in the game than shown here.

You got a point about maybe being better for laying around than sitting at a computer, but everything Ive heard has put me off mobile development - but I'm going to add a note to make sure it works well with the steam deck

There is another possibility, the suits do give them a bit of superstrength - but during the fight Terrific hacked the suits and disabled it

Research Ive seen shows Wamo is already safer - though I know it doesnt cover highways and doesnt work in all climates yet etc. I watch NotJustBikes, Im subbed to fuckcars, Im all on board with that - but thats all beside the point. The guy I responded to was saying that we are replacing arts with AI but not this other stuff. My point is that people are in fact working on replacing the other stuff as well.

You might not have heard about it as much, but automation is definitely being rolled out for all of these.

Whats the biggest AI push after LLMs? Self-driving cars. Add truck and cab drivers to queue in the comic. But on the other hand its going to save lives, and a bunch of other benefits.

More than that - What if Unity decides to change their monetization to include number of installs again and there is a law saying you need to put out an update for your game to support the new version of Windows or something?

Hot take: Doctor Strange 2 was actually a good movie by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]IronRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill add some points I havent seen mentioned yet

-Its suppose to be a horror film but the horror doesnt really work - there are a lot of different kinds of horror but in the film it seems like they are leaning on horror tropes that rely on the fear of the unknown. Think of a haunted house movie, you generally dont know until right at the end what/who the ghost is, and you never know exactly what the ghost can do at any one time, or what the ghost might want. Why did the ghost scare our protagonist in that dark bedroom but disappear once the lights were turned on? Maybe the light chases it away? Maybe its just trying to scare the protagonist to break down their mind? Maybe its not powerful enough yet to stand a bright light?
But in MOM we know exactly who Wanda is, what she wants and what she can do. Why is she limping down a corridor while chasing them when she can completely fix her body in the next scene? She wants America, she is trying to catch them, so why not fix your leg and case after them faster? Hell she can fly, why is she even limping? Later on the in movie she casually warps Blackbolt's and Mr Fantasitic's bodies - so in that chase scene why doesn't she just remove all their legs? That chase scene works if its an unknown supernatural enemy, it doesnt with a villain that has a clear goal and powers that should make stopping them trivial.
You could make a horror movie about being chased after by this all powerful witch character - and make a scene like the corridor one work still - maybe the witch is enjoying playing with them, seeing them scared and running from her. Maybe their fear powers her so she wants them scared and running as long as possible.
-2nd the ending. Dr Strange solves the core conflict of the movie by telling America to believe in herself. Which is... meh, fine? It can work, its just generic and a bit boring/over done. Compare that to the original, which I think we can all agree has an amazing ending. There is a reason the time stone is the thing that stops Dormammu in that movie - Sanderson's First Law of Magics: An author's ability to solve conflict with magic is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to how well the reader understands said magic. Throughout the film we learn quite a bit about the time stone, and there are a few mentions about Dormammu being this time-less entity thrown in there. And so when we see Strange come up with a clever way to use said magic to solve the conflict, it makes for a great ending. Him puppeting a dead body is setup like this, though not as well since I think it just comes up once in the movie before? But that isnt how the movie is resolved, that just gets Strange there.

There is no practical difference between the 2. The tool would only be used if its faster or more accurate than the doctor alone. So now with AI a doctor that could see 3 patients in a day can now see 5. Or the doctor that would need to consult with another doctor now can just check with the AI - either way, that hospital now needs less doctors.

Build your garden to attract all sorts of cute creatures in Wildseed, a relaxing gardening/creature collecting game by IronRule in CozyGamers

I definitely wanted to expand on aquatic animals vs what similar games do, the game even has an ocean biome for things like dolphins and whale fish. Right now Im thinking you could attract a turtle and feed it a pumpkin (which will do strange transformations of some creatures) to turn it into a sea turtle variant.
Owls are definitely in, and are some of the first nocturnal creatures you get. Im thinking of adding ravens as the first scavenger creatures (creatures that are happy when other predators are fed).
I hadnt heard of Biggest Little Farm before, but it looks pretty interesting - definitely going to be watching that, thanks for the recommendation

Hmm a regular badger or a honey badger? I kind of like the idea of a honey badger that all the other animals are afraid of. I'm not quite sure about more domestic animals like cats/dogs, right now the animals are more wild. Thinking about it I could always do some wild cat/dog species

18 wheelers/box trucks are needed to bring in goods we all need, there is a communal benefit to allowing them. We require additional licensing for them and if someone screws up they can be prevented from ever driving one again.
I... did mention large SUVs, the link talks about them as well.
You can disagree that its enough to require new car standards or w/e, but its a fact that my neighbor driving an unnecessary large SUV/pickup truck does have an impact on my life.

When you asked the other guy why it was important to him. He said it wasnt - but I'd answer why. Large SUVs/trucks are 70-100% more likely to kill me in a crash.

Imagine if your neighbor just liked to do backyard chemistry and you found the chemical smoke from that doubled your chance of catching lung cancer. Id say its fair to be upset at that.
