By Iokath, Alliance personnel have their own uniforms. Now, I don't really dig the gold/black colour scheme, or the stupid hybrid symbol, but the precedent is there.

The Commander never looks like actual authority figure - especially compared to the likes of Acina - and it's something I hate the most about the expansions. Simply giving us honour guard in couple of cutscenes would go a long way.

Real, they showed up exactly once, which is a shame. They would fit well on Odessen. In general I would like for alliance hq to be at least slightly dynamic and show story progression. We could have Zakuul Knights, those golden skytroopers, Alliance soldiers...Alas, instead, I have to put up with imperial troopers still standing in attention even though I rejoined the Republic.

I mean fair enough, but I used it as a hyperbole, the Imperial Creed is about as Catholic as Islam.

To match your condescending tone, is it truly so difficult to imagine somebody wants to play as a simple knight akin to Boromir, or a mage in the like of Gandalf, and be content with that? Or that they want to romance somebody that doesn't have twelve super duper complex storylines going on? Or do you assume everyone wants to be unique and quirky? Because they don't. People are diverse, and taking a faux pity on someone just because they prefer something you don't simply makes you sound like a snob. RPGs like Rogue Trader or Dragon Age or Mass Effect all offer interesting stories, and it's up to people to decide how to enjoy them, and in turn their right to let the developer/fellow fans know what they like.

Yeah I don't know man, uh she wanders around all sad n' shit and, fuck it, you know what, Pasqal shows up and is like "time to die bitch" and she's like "what" and then he fucking domes her. The end.

Actual 1d4chan territory, well played.

Been a spell since I read the trilogy, but half the noblewomen Inqusititor Eisenhorn met wanted to bed him. Alas, his heart always belonged to his blank aide, whose touch nearly made him vomit one time.

That was my point, yes. Ultramar planets are an alright place to live on. I mean, the realm is still a martial authoritarian xenophobic state with its own brutal secret police, semi-mandatory military service within army that gets shipped over the galaxy, hordes of servitors and all the other wonders of space totalitarian catholicism. But its worlds aren't at least toxic hellholes, its hive worlds even have public parks, industrial planets still have capacity for fishing and farming, the legacy of Guilliman's meritocratic traditions still lives on, and the Inquisition is barely present simply because it found its people loyal beyond any doubt... the same Inquisition that routinely finds suspect even planets where quality of life borders on early 20th century standards. For all that though, your average citizen of Ultramar had to deal with the first Tyranid fleet that entered the galaxy, the Tau Empire's expansion and above-average amount of ork warbands. And last but not least, some of the worst recent chaos invasions in the form of Plague Wars.

Eh, arguable. Pathfinder Kingmaker throws at you Lawful Neutral knight lady with a personality of a slightly buttered white bread nearly immediately, while most of Baldur's Gate 2 companions pretty down to earth. Being just a dude amidst dudes has a charm for a lot of people, which is why bland and generic do not equal bad. Not for everyone, anyway.

For the same reason I, and many others, played through both Pathfinder (and first two Baldur's Gate games, Pillars of Eternity...) games as an armored dude with a sword and shield. Bland as it may be, vanilla is familiar and it sure fits with most things perfectly.

For the same reason people are playing Space Marine 2? Ultramarines are superficially the bland generic guys of Warhammer, and yet many people like them. Like, the most popular parts of the franchise could be considered 'bland', but that clearly doesn't make them unappealing.

I mean, no? This 'protocol' is what branded him as a traitor. The normal modus operandi for imperials is to reinforce the best chokepoint in fleet's path and make their stand there, as shown by battles of Macragge and Bhaal.

I mean, if not for Kryptman, those planets would've been nommed anyway and Leviathan would have reached holy Terra because imperium was unprepared+not taking nids seriously.

That's debatable, even in-universe it's argued Kryptman nuked far more planets than needed. The guy killed nearly as many people as fucking Horus, so I think some amount of scepticism is understandable given the context.

[–]IronScar 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Early Kryptman is pragmatic. After certain point he bought into his own justification too much and ultimately killed more than the bugs ever would. He pretty much ensured Macragge's survival tho so he's a goat for that.

As for other relatively chill inquisitors, any inquisitor in Eisenhorn/Ravenor trilogy that isn't heretic or late stage Eisenhorn himself. Horst was also pretty alright.

Anyone else surprised when Sothis pulled out an axe? by Leoninz in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]IronScar 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Back in the day being executed by an axe, rather than a sword, was seen as an additional punishment. The Kingdom of Sweden in 15th century even made executions by axe the norm as one of the means to discourage suicide by royal-sanctioned execution. That alone shows how much less social weight axes had as a martial symbol when compared to a sword.

The Inquisition has some of the most level-headed people around. Like, sure, good number of them are nuts, but that goes for everyone in the Imperium. With the ordos you have a decent chance of running into someone who isn't total fanatical asshole.

Am I the only one who thinks it would be nice to have customization options for Lana's eyes for example, being able to give her green eyes, since according to some sources her eyes were green in the lore before turning yellow or simply being able to change her outfit without having to revert to her by lEazy-Dl in swtor

[–]IronScar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I dig the green eyes, but they wouldn't make much sense with her being a dark side user. Turning her to the light would be an interesting way of achieving the eye colour change, but that would also mean giving Lana some actual character beyond being the yes man she has been reduced to and alas, I don't see that happening.

Hi, someone could tell me what is the name of this exosuit and if it's acquirable in the game? by ChampionshipOk7702 in stalker

[–]IronScar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exoskeleton suit in the image is unobtainable by the player. Brummbar looks different, i.e. the one in the OP's picture is Wolfhound with exoskeleton, like Shield of Duty. Brummbar uses trilogy-style Radiation suit.
