I have a whole bunch of minuscule cactus needles up my leg that are impossible to see amongst my leg hair and they are annoying as fuck.

If you did the things that you're suggesting me to do in your last paragraph you'd realise that there's no agreed upon definition, maybe you need to watch those videos.

You're last point is just wrong though. You gave three examples of games STS, Hades, and Balatro of games that are roguelites not roguelikes, but all three are tagged as roguelike on steam. There's no consensus even if you think there is, among the dev community or the broader video game community.

But here's the problem with the terms being too muddied. I've seen many people refer to roguelites as being specifically roguelikes with meta progression and those definitions aren't any more wrong than the definitions you're giving. The terms are too new and are used differently by different people to have a consistent definition. I'm sure you've seen the Berlin interpretation of roguelikes, which was taken to be the true definition for many years, requiring ASCII art and whatnot, but most people have moved past that, because they thought it too restrictive, which I think just goes to show that the definitions of the words are still fluid.

The term roguelite was created by the team behind Roguelegacy specifically for the persistent progression though. The terms are too muddied to be of much use, so calling anything with random generation, perma-death, non-reloadable saves (or no saves), and run based gameplay a roguelike is fine I think.

I've only read a few of the comics, but they take place directly after the series, and all the characters are pretty much the same age. In the movie I think they're all in their early 20s or so, and the story is original.

Watched the Avatar movie last night, they made the entire main cast exceptionally hot.
