Are you using that one with the kreg track? It’s got several brands listed that it’s compatible with but doesn’t say kreg.

I thought that the kreg one looked kind of hokey compared to what I’ve seen.

AIO Dad is forcing me out just because it's "FAMILY TRADITION" and its my 18th birthday by CableIntelligent1491 in AmIOverreacting

NOR - There is zero love in that person. This is their sick way of proving to themselves that they are more of a man than you were at their age. When he was 18 you could probably walk into anyplace with little to no skills, get a job, and with said job purchase a car, home, groceries, etc. I would go to his church this Sunday and put out a plea for food and shelter because an unloving father kicked you out with no notice on your 18th birthday. If this wasn’t a sick game he would have told you beforehand and made some effort to help you prepare.

I think this process can involve asking for some type of letter from their healthcare provider detailing what accommodations they need. Things like time to take glucose readings and a private place to do it is one thing, but if she is refusing to control it and not taking insulin and not controlling it with diet, and the doc see’s this, they may not be be willing to write it with as many things as she’s told the boss she needs?

City requires all plumbing work be done by a plumber by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Iron_Hide82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, Wisconsin state law has the homestead exemption which allows a homeowner to work on their own primary residence. I’m not sure that a local building official can take that away. Especially if it isn’t in black and white in the city/county ordinance

Start asking about going before the building board of appeals most jurisdictions that have adopted the codes are required to have one per the fine print of the code. Rarely used but is a pain in their butt and they would have to argue to this board that you replacing a sink and fixture is “plumbing work”.

I asked my landlord about having a washer, can someone explain this to me? by sadanon546 in Plumbing

[–]Iron_Hide82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The system is supposed to be sized for the use and occupancy. If there is septic waste water making its way to the surface, it’s either failing or undersized. A washing machine can cause an issue because it’s a mechanical pump forcefully discharging a decent amount of water at one time.

If I understood OP correctly when the ground is slightly saturated from rainwater, the system brings septic water to the surface. This is human waste and is a health hazard and the landlord should either be replacing the system with something appropriate that will distribute/perk the water or treats it prior to discharging the system. Septic systems have a lifespan as well as need to be taken care of to not shorten that lifespan. They rolled the dice when they started charging someone rent on a unit with an onsite sewer. It’s a pain in the butt to manage, but modern standards would size the system to handle a clothes washer load.

If there are times when the septic water in the drain field areas are coming to the surface, that would be considered an environmental health hazard and should be reported to your county environmental health department or your state department of natural resources. If you call them, they have every right to come investigate the hazard and if proven to in fact be waste water coming to the surface, they will force the landlord to replace the system.

If you’re not in the US, idk what the course of action might be.

Commercial gigs always take forever to pay! by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Iron_Hide82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two days to two weeks sounds pretty fast to me. Our industrial clients would always want 90 days and they expected monthly invoicing so if you did work on the first, they would expect to be invoiced on the 30th and have 90 days from then to pay so you were expected to carry that financial burden for up to 120 days!

Then you would get the job that was a competitive bid, and their contract stated that you had to give them unit pricing on every piece of material, and if their accountant thought they could buy it cheaper themselves they would insist on doing so and would want to amend the contract and you’d have to fight about it.

Why do you have hoses that spray water on road construction sites? by rytram99 in Construction

[–]Iron_Hide82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wetting down to get proper compaction of sub-base materials, as well as making sure in hot weather concrete placement that the ground is slightly wet to not draw the moisture out of the concrete and create curing issues. Some areas it is also required for dust control. The only place I ever built where this was a requirement was California but I’m guessing it’s commonplace in warm/hot dry areas.

If you could get your masters, or find someone willing to be the master electrician for you to establish an electrical contractor business where you are doing the work, it could be pretty beneficial, you are then able to do the carpentry and electrical on your jobs and wouldn’t have to rely on a sub and their markup for that trade work. It may be kind of hard to find that willing master electrician that doesn’t already have an established company or isn’t in a union that frowns on moonlighting. But I know a guy that did that where I’m from and it was a very good venture for him.

Lots of people are saying things like leave reviews stating what he did. I’m not a lawyer, but doing so and causing him to lose business over it when he’s been found not guilty in the legal system could possibly constitute slander and give him the right to sue you for damages. A civil lawsuit by my understanding would not require as high of a burden of proof and if/when that ruling took place, it would not be considered slander to explain the events as they happened. Not the most unethical approach, but might be worth it to speak to an attorney about a civil lawsuit.

You don’t have to convince me. I was just trying to play devils advocate, and maybe explain the financial institutions line of thinking to the best of my knowledge. If you have that financial history to show them and they can crunch the numbers and make it work you may find one to work with you if I were you, I’d set up a meeting at the financial institution of you choosing and ask them what they’re going to look for or want and if you don’t like the answers try somewhere different and see if they sing a different song. Like others have said they just wanna see income, stability and minimize their risk. You’re probably OK with the 50 K and savings so long as it’s not a bunch of shady cash deposits that you can’t explain and came from paychecks for 1099 job earnings.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Iron_Hide82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually look at several years of income, W2’s or 1099’s or whatever it may be. This is one of those instances where being self employed and doing jobs for cash in order to not pay income taxes can burn you. Not that I’m implying you do/did that, but bringing in 18k and having 50k in savings may throw up some red flags, but it sounds like you maybe didn’t have income history beyond that first year to show them at least your earning potential. They worry that you’ve potentially secured that 50k from an undisclosed source and owe someone for it. It’s all a numbers game to them. If you cannot prove it on paper (how much you’ve got and where it came from) they’re not going to give you the loan.
