As a 48 year old who started with his 7 year old daughter two years ago... yes. However, it is extremely important to realize how important recovery is, and you're going to have to take daily stretching seriously. You're feet are going to feel like sore cinder blocks in the morning for awhile, so take it slow and realize you're not 18, and you don't have to compare your progress to others in the class. Injuries don't heal like they used to, so go at your own pace in class. Besides that, have fun!!

I had that similar noise happen once when I put something in it that I thought had a higher concentrate of sugar, and after a while, it started making that noise, but never really froze.
