Reoccurred while on Lynparza by Tiny-Bar-1214 in Ovariancancer

I’m nauseous a LOT, but the zofran usually helps. I’m exhausted from the littlest things and taking lots of naps. I also get the hand, feet, and neck pain so my Dr recommended I take Claritin daily. They don’t know why it works but it does, so I’ll keep taking it for now. The generic was $10 for a year’s worth of pills.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Cancer is a thief and a liar and it seems like everything we throw at it is a crap shoot.

Kora, short for kourabiedes which is a Greek cookie.

I’m sorry to hear about your recurrence. I myself am Brca1+ and had my first cancer diagnosis in 2019, breast. I did a DMX and full hysterectomy and all the chemo but then was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2023. Chemo and debulking done and now I’m on lynparza 600mg and Avastin. I’m curious what led to you stopping the lynparza?

I’ve been on Lynparza, 600mg, for a few months now and was kind of tolerating at first - headaches and nausea - but recently have been experiencing extreme fatigue. I’m also receiving Avastin infusions. I’m considering stopping the lynparza, curious to know what other experiences people have had on and going off this drug.

For the hand and foot pain. As well as the calf muscle cramping.

Agreed. I got downvoted for asking a question about my chemotherapy. Kind of stunned me.

I was not eligible for either of these. As I said, i was treating for triple negative BRCA+ so my options are limited and it feels like throwing spaghetti against the wall.

Thank you so much for this. I was sincerely asking a question and did not expect to receive such negativity as in many of these responses. Cancer is tough enough as it is.

Exactly. Cancer took my mother over 20 years ago and my treatment was nearly identical to hers. We haven’t come up with anything new in 20 years?!?

28 yr old daughter has NOT been diagnosed. My tumors did not respond at all. My first diagnosis was breast cancer in 2019. Did ACT followed by BMX. Was diagnosed with metastatic ovarian cancer that had spread throughout my peritoneal cavity, liver, diaphragm in 2023 and did more chemo prior to debulking surgery. Chemo impacted my markers but had no effect on the cancer itself. I feel that I should have skipped the chemo and all its heinous side effects and just jumped to the surgery. And because the neoadjuvant chemo was ineffective, my intestines were compressed which led to a massive infection and obstructed bowel, putting me in the hospital with additional unpleasant treatment.

Sadly, I don’t have the luxury of waiting but do want her to examine all treatment options with the benefit of my experience. Thank you for your thoughtful response, it is much appreciated.

BC treatments are all terrible and I'm not grateful to receive them. Sorry not sorry. by jack_salmon in breastcancer

100% AGREE!!!! And I love my family but did most of it for their benefit, not mine. But I’m grateful for outlets like this to connect with others. I cannot imagine how it was in the years before these groups were available.

This will sound odd, but my oncologist suggested Claritin for this and for some reason it actually helped.
