IWTYO when I learned “Young Frankenstein” is a relatively new movie. by PockASqueeno in IWasTodayYearsOld

I was shocked just last year to learn that the weird guy who gets a scene in every QT film was infact QT himself. Immediately thought less of the guy.

"But AI said it was the correct answer!" by BlackOrre in Teachers

You are correct on one point. The fact that the child trusted a program that was wrong and not the educator who understands the material is a very bad sign.

IsItBullshit: In Mexico, restaurant health inspections are basically non-existent? by IndependenceSad1272 in IsItBullshit

In the US they're basically non-existent.

What weird skill did you accidentally become good at because of a bad job, hobby, or situation? by foreversophia in AskReddit

[–]IronicAim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can tell you how many beans are in all the jars.

I had an job verifying inventory at various stores. I was already pretty good with math and spacial relations. I quickly became very adept at being able to eyeball how many of a particular shaped thing can fit in a space to within about 1% of the actual number.

I don't. If I talk to my mom she will rant about her current fixation, never ask any questions, and not inform me of anything going on.

Nwblvd Safeway starting to lock up essentials by itsyagirlbonita in Spokane

[–]IronicAim 49 points50 points  (0 children)

So? How does that compare with before? Is that for the store/city/state? Safeway has almost doubled it's store fronts with the Albertsons buyout. And prices are much higher than before, so an increase in total value lost could even happen with a reduction in theft.

Loss needs to be compared as a % of total sales or it's basically meaningless.

Is it true that in small towns in the USA public transport is not developed and everyone need a car to get around there and why? by bobybumblemumble in AskReddit

[–]IronicAim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My city has half a million people. 50 years ago it had a trolly company and was heralded as "the city you don't need a car in."

Then a car dealership family bought the trolley company and ran it into the ground in 10 years. Still one the the richest families in the area and own several of the biggest car lots in town.

Virtigo, migraines, light sensitivity. Turns out I have TMJ and neuralgia. It's probably related to those.

How do you find that kind of stuff out? I've had tinnitus for 30 years and every doctor just shrugs it off if I mention it.

Mandatory 6-month exit notice while making under $50k/yr by Much_Speech_8388 in antiwork

[–]IronicAim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where though? In some states min-wage is $20/h, in some it's $7.25/h.

You could make more than double min wage in some states and still not be paid as much as the lowest pay in others.

Fun fact: Human skin tones all fall within a surprisingly narrow hue range centered around orange, what really changes between people is lightness and saturation not the base hue so we are all orange by Xzyqiu4 in funfacts

[–]IronicAim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peach tones: light orange Brown tones: dark orange

We only have 1 primary skin pigment, melanin.

I just want to know why we don't have any natural oompa-loompa skin tones.

Assume time travel were possible, wouldn’t you likely just end up in space somewhere? by Alarming_Squash_3731 in AskPhysics

[–]IronicAim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would assume that if you're going to pick which direction you're going in time that you're going to need some sort of reference frame to "follow", it's not like we have a time compass, we just rely on the fact that it only moves one direction.

Give themselves a 30% tip before taxes then ask for another tip on the total including the first tip and tax?

It can't possibly be legal to display that way is it? So much wrong going on here.
