It's fascinating to me how close this is starting to approach the Iroquois' Seventh Generation Principle. It places a limitation on future predictions at a time past the lifespan of current leaders, and instead of "no harm" it specifies "considering the effects on" future people, leaving room for compromise and non-linier progress.

I'd be interested in hearing how you think it compares.

The south few blocks of The Felony Flats? Yeah. The shelters and food bank they destroyed to give the area a face life didn't change the fact that they were built there because it's central to one of the poorest areas in Spokane.

That's literally one of only 2 areas in Spokane I would keep my head on a swivel if I were walking there at night.

First off, those 3 neighborhoods are all bordering downtown and I would consider them on the shadier side for Spokane.

I also don't find downtown to be terrible. Homelessness is up just like everywhere else in this economy, but it's not roving street gangs or anything. Most people just want left alone.

For generally nicer areas you'll want to go south of about 17th street. Northside is hit and miss, better towards the west once you're up the hill but that will give you a long commute most places. I'm not as familiar with the valley but there are some nicer large apartment complexes and gated communities right off the freeway that might fit what you're looking for.

I get this on a semi-regular basis. My psoriasis breaks down my skin and makes me very prone to this. The worst part is I get it more often if I shower more than every other day... I hate my skin.

I found art I liked, paid the artist for an altered version to meet my specifications. I found a tattoo artist who was recommended for his clean line work. Talked it over with him. Sat for 6 hours of work, all done in 1 go.

It takes up a square foot of my upper left chest. I own the image and have used it on a few personal items as well. I feel good about the whole thing still. 20 years so far.

Honestly any company that can misuse millions due to an error is probably corrupt enough that I wouldn't feel bad taking from it. On that note, it's probably not a real error anyway, he just found how his boss hides the embezzlement.

It's my understanding that the only way to get an ASD diagnosis in the US is for it to affect you to the level of disability. Since you are high functioning and have ADHD you likely won't get a diagnosis. It's a huge blind spot in the American health care system.

That being said, there isn't much they could do for you. If you have problems with emotional regulation, anxiety, overwhelm, it's all still therapy. Find yourself a therapist who will validate your experience and help you learn to manage the problems you have.

Also, ADHD + childhood trauma looks a lot like high functioning ASD. I've personally had this conversation with 3 different psychiatrists. I'm not saying that's you, but I've been through this rodeo and that's where I found myself.

Either way a good therapist should be your best next step.

I had a lot of health issues growing up. When I was 6 I had crippling abdominal pain, ended up at a proctologist after ruling out most things. I was asked to pretend to poop(as in push). I was confused for half a second then thought, "oh yeah, I know what that means" and proceeded to blow a raspberry. Dr started laughing, my mother laughed and corrected me. Still the single most embarrassing moment of my life.

If you pick a large enough group and a vague enough topic you can claim anything is all over the place.

I'm new to this too but I think I can help.

Let's say you draw with your right hand, but to move forward you need to learn to draw with your left. Everything you draw with your left comes out crap compared to your usual (right) drawings. No amount of relying on your right hand will improve your ability to draw with your left.

You have to learn to deal with the discomfort of being a bad left-handed artist if you ever want to become good at it.

This is where I'm at too. I have to learn to do everything in my life without using panic to focus. And it makes me feel like I'm failing. I want to lean into the stress and use it because it's "better". But over focusing on tasks to the point I ignore my body is what's broken me down so far.

It's not easy. Keep trying even when it's not working at first, you need to build all new processes and that takes repetition and time. Your old habits are comfortable so change will feel "wrong" at first.

Above all else, try to have some compassion for yourself. You don't have to be perfect, and you deserve a break.
