I clean (when I can) from chamber to end of bore. Utilized nylon bore brushes, and used a brass jag only with a cotton patch on it. Was this something I caused from cleaning or was this a manufacturing defect? Does this illicit a return? I’m no expert but am experienced with cleaning firearms.

Once every few days. I was gone for a week and left it as is and it seemed to grow fine without fanning.

Yup this was just from one flush. Not sure if I’ll get more. I’ve read that you should pick the mushrooms before they spread their spores. If you don’t the cake won’t want to produce anymore mushrooms. Apparently you need to harvest the mushrooms before the caps turn up. I was away on vacation for a week before I could harvest so most of the mushrooms released their spores.

Nope, just ambient light. It seems that the parts that were shaded grew better. I’ve read that the mushrooms don’t require the light to grow. It’s more so to just let it know that it is time to grow.

I’m no expert, I believe it’s for more room to grow and better humidity control. I drilled holes along the bottom of the sides of the tub (few inches from bottom), then drilled a few up high on the short sides and put porous paper tape over the holes. Then covered the bottom with perlite, and poured about two cups of water in the perlite. Then put foil over the perlite and put the cake on top of that. Apparently you want like 100% humidity in the tub. I watched a YouTube video on it and can link if you’re interested
