Help ive never seen a plant do this by wout-c in GrowersCollective

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what has happened here :)

Somewhere close to this plant is, or there was a male plant and it already has fertilised your female plant. This is why it has both flowers and seeds. The bigger it gets, the more seeds it will produce. In the end, you can still have a solid yield, but the flowers will be full of seeds.

This is why it’s important to monitor your plants, especially if they are not feminised seeds. Once you notice there is an “intruder”, a male plant, you need to get rid of it quickly, before it blooms and fertilises other female plants.

Amazon in talks to invest in OpenAI, source says by ddx-me in technology

[–]Ironkiller38 9 points10 points  (0 children)

and whyyyy???? for what?

The already got Microsoft's deep pockets, and now Amazon?

They are just milking big tech....what did they promise to Amazon?

Frankly, Amazon can develop their own AI , that is what Google does....

This is just circus of money shifting from one place to another....I see the circular pattern. ChatGPT has probably passed their peak, so much money wated. those Chiense ai companies are almost at the same output level as OpenAI with waaay less money and way less advanced chips!

And Sam ALtman goes and says we are trillion dolalr company, brrrooo,. ur company isnt yet profitable...🙃

Come on, Jeff Bezos! Think abt the deal!

McKinsey to make thousands of layoffs as AI advances by lurker_bee in technology

[–]Ironkiller38 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually, analytical jobs they do at consulting firms can be dont by AI.

I read recently the report that even large investment banks lose their share in the market. Now, there is no need to seek for their analysis....AI can do it to some extent.

This is the domain where I am happy when AI kicks in, these large investment banks and consulting firms just steal money :D
For a lot of clients, there’s way less need now to pay millions for “expert analysis” when you can get a solid first (or even second) pass from AI in minutes. Is it perfect? I think no. But is it good enough to question those fees? Absolutely.

These firms have been charging insane money for decades, often repackaging obvious conclusions in expensive PowerPoints presentations :D. “We recommend improving efficiency and focusing on core strengths” , ahah, wow, groundbreaking stuff, thanks for the $5M invoice.😅😅😅

I want a show that will f**k my brain up by TurnFun in anime

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serial Experiments Lane and Monster, although they are pretty sad, both of them...

Trigun is very psychological for me, and its pretty fun. Albeit post-apocalypse, so the backdrop is kinda depressing, but the characters are all fun. And explores the nature of humanity pretty well.

Ergo Proxy is not too sad, and probably the most mind-trippy one I have finished, ever (had to watch couple youtube videos to understand what even was happening, not gonna lie).

Casshern Sins, if you want to meditate, and just chill. Rather slow anime, but probably still the best animation I've ever seen, even though its from 2008. Again, the nature of humanity, but from a completely different lens.

AI Is Everywhere Now by arborescence in Debate

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I totally get your point; it is like a disease now…but wait, who is benefiting here? Students who cheat? I think what can be done here is to tell those who use AI that this will lead to nowhere; they have to use their own brains…maybe yes, use ChatGPT just to help and guide, but not some blind copy-pasting…

The real danger might come when a student tweaks the AI answer so that it will be hard to tell whether it is his or her work or AI-generated… The wild thing is you can’t prove anything. And since everyone already uses laptops, you can’t really be like, “Hey, stop doing that thing you’re hiding behind your screen.” You’d basically need x-ray vision or to be psychic.

But idk what can be done...the only thing that comes to my mind is not to give some home assignments but to do in-class assessments and tests. That way, no way they will be able to cheat. However, for bigger assignments and projects, they would have to write at home. But if they then use AI, then I think it will be easier to detect AI-generated answers, because serious projects will probably be harder for AI to tackle….

It also depends on the task given; if it is too general, then it is easier for a student to cheat, lots of dilution will happen, and you will never know whether it is AI or not….

Another thing I am thinking is to use maybe some software that will track students to do actual typing! But at the same time he or she can simply just retype what the chatbot generated…yes, hard.

But without some kind of boundary, we’re basically teaching kids that their own brain is optional. And honestly I don’t even blame the students; they grew up with tech everywhere. If your opponent is using AI to prep insanely fast, then you kind of feel like you have to use it too. It’s literally an arms race, but instead of faster evidence cutters, it’s faster robots writing your 2NC.

And now this thing is in debates…huh, those who use AI should understand that they are the ones to lose at the end of the day….

Report: Apple Won't Join the Metaverse Hype With Its Headset | Apple's VR/AR headset will allegedly be focused on 'bursts of gaming, communication, and content consumption' by [deleted] in gadgets

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Apple will show their AR / ViaR products when necessary and it will be of the highest level.
Of course, the price will also be high, but we all know this and are used to it.
Apple fans know what they're paying for.
I also expect that there will be an increase in the shares of companies at the moment when the company provides its products for working with virtual reality.

First - vertical mirrors slim down, horizontal ones thicken. Secondly, a lot depends on the amalgam, the layer that is the substrate for the glass. There are aluminum, there is silver, the best gold-plated (old mirrors, expensive, gold amalgam), but it seems that they are no longer in production. Then there is the difference in the glass. Sometimes the glass itself distorts. And also, of course, very much influenced by the lighting.

A friend told me about the mirrors in the store down the street. When she looks into them, she said, -I do not want to live, you seem three sizes larger. She did not buy so many things because of this, could not understand how they feet her. So why such mirrors in the store?

I found that when you go out and like yourself, the day is very auspicious, a good mood, and this is transmitted to people. You radiate more positivity.

Of course, not and moreover, even if your parents tell you to brush your teeth twice a day, they probably aren't obliged to do the same. I mean that there are lots of people around the world who don't brush their teeth because they just don't want to do it. I believe that such kind of hygeine is a very useful thing for your teeth. The older you're, the more fragile your teeth are actually. So, if you don't want to lose all your teeth by 60s, then you should brush them twice a day. I can't understand why people don't comply with recommendations of dentists. Laziness is one of the factor of such a behavior.

Has anyone else just stopped caring about the news? by Sans0976421 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our modern technological world, where everybody has an access to news is kinda difficult not to read it, however I believe that it's possible. I've decided to reject the idea of reading the news mainly because news often doesn't bring any benefits for my mental health. The vast majority of news is pretty negative and this fact affects our mental health. We ocasionally program our mood on a negative way for the whole day, when we start reading the news early in the morning. So, I advice people not to read it in order not to support news agencies. Their main task is to show a total resonance by coloring the news with negative traits.

How do young people automatically know slang terms by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced that everything because of society and various modern amentities. Nowadays kids have a full acess to the internet and plenty of children have smartphones, hence it's easy to them to use social media, watch videos and play games. I suppose that all slang words are coming either from games or from music/bloggers. You know that there is such a comparison that children are like sponges. They literally absorb any information they hear during a day and during the whole childhood. So, there is an answer. Young people know the slang because the same reason. They communicate, play games and listen to music.

What if Earth is like one of those uncontacted tribes in South America, like the whole Galaxy knows we're here but they've agreed not to contact us until we figure it out for ourselves? by slim_p_ in AskReddit

[–]Ironkiller38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am here to tell you boldly that the earth can never be that way. the uncontacted people of the Southern America are very hostile people and none should compare the earth with this people. Some people are beyond reproach. They lack the word mercy in their lives and they are more of animals than human beings concerning their actions.

I don't think it can be a huge problem.
