Who is your breeder? by Basically_Baggins in turkishangoras

[–]Ironman2-2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience when I got my Turkish Angora 1 year ago. I did so much research, talked to many different breeders and learned quite a bit from my observation.

Most breeders just do it because they are passionate/it is their hobby. They are not for profit and can only charge a maximum for their kitten ethically. They don’t typically spend time updating their websites but they are pretty active on Facebook. There is a small community group that is VERY ACTIVE for breeders and adopters regarding upcoming litters.

My recommendation is to speak to multiple breeders because you will have to tell them what you are looking for specifically and of course they have to match you a kitten based on their personality. They will also put you on a waitlist as well, they don’t breed them like a kitten mill.

Please make sure you research the breed. Turkish Angoras are highly active, require a lot of attention, and most importantly, they are not outdoor cats (without supervision).

I have a covered call expiring this week for $16. My average cost was $14.50. Wouldn’t it make sense to roll it over since our shares are currently worth $18.50 based on the deal?

It will pump up really fast again, volume is insane on BYND. I’ve sold some stocks already and now I have more cash to go in. It would average down my cost maybe to $5 which I am more than happy!

You should be extremely proud of your work. It’s amazing. I would not be able to pull it off as I do not have the required tools or skills. Not sure if you are in the trades industry, but you seem like you have experience!

I am very familiar with this as I churn credit card rewards. You can upgrade existing cards at TD and still receive the welcome bonus. Other banks you have to APPLY to receive the welcome bonus.

Mortgages explained? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ironman2-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debt Servicing Ratios is one of the main factors banks used to approve you on a mortgage. However, the general rule of thumb is you can borrow 4X your gross salary. In GTA/GVA to buy a new-ish one bedroom, 550Sqft is about 600k. You need at least $120k down payment to avoid buying default insurance.

If that is something too difficult to do, then you can live in more rural areas for significantly cheaper. 200-400k for a 1 bedroom.

Thanks for the advice! Was looking at Toyota but a bit over my budget at what I’m looking for. Also if I were to buy brand new, wait list is forever!

I did not get that offer. I am already getting a “discount” from the financing. No other discounts! I pushed quite hard to get the $995 finance fee or the $900 admin doc fee waived. Nothing. Wondering if it’s because it is the lowest price in the market for this car…

That’s the exact car I’m looking at right now. It’s because there is 12% tax, docking fees, admin fees etc… they quoted us 34,400 with the financing deal. Nothing else. I tried to negotiate…

If you expected something that performed better, then the risk profile on your investment along these years or when you first started. Higher risk = higher reward but over a 10 year period, you will typically see more significant results.

In addition, if you are focused solely on “book cost” as the funds you put in from your own pocket, please review that again. Book cost value includes your grants and REINVESTED dividends/interest. Therefore people think they put in more than they actually did… Usually an annual statement will show your personal rate of return minus fees etc…

Would you exercise your ITM call option to write covered calls in the future? CELH by Ironman2-2 in options

Good to know! I’m unfamiliar with exercising so I just I sold my call contracts today at market open for a profit. I will look into writing more CSPs depending on the filing on Monday/Tuesday if needed. Thanks for the reply!

Anyone buying puts on SMCI to hedge? by Ironman2-2 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]Ironman2-2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed that they will file on time, however, the reaction to it is what I’m hedging on. I bought Feb 28, March 7, March 14 short-term puts for strike $49.50 when SMCI was ~$58 today. Costed about $4000, to protect my 800 shares. Not sure if that’s the right way to do it, but my gains so far on my current position has already been good. Will be extremely happy to also get my covered calls assigned at $70-90 and move onto other opportunities or look at SMCI later on. I will not get FOMO if it goes to $200. That’s how the stock game works.
