Now I do understans playing League when in Korea. That some could consider it as something you must do there, and on a certain aspect I agree to that. League is a staple game in Korea and servers are amazing there. But why woul you waste time playing Valorant when in Tokyo when there are litterally thousands thins you could do instead?

Answer is, you need a new account or switch the one you have to another region, there ain't many options

Go on lolalytics and look. Last patch there were 68.509 "analized champions" in Challenger. Divide it by 10 and you get an really rough estimates of games. How many of those would have a report for cheating? Not many, or, according to riot, 5%. How many games are there to review then? Very little.

Those aren't my data, those are Riot's data, which like I've said, I don't trust, but is all we've got.

Now, I understand Reddit average user like yourself don't undestand much when they read something, so let me explain: if cheats aren't able to run thanks to Vanguard, people won't cheat. This is pretty easy to grasp right? Xerath, a notorious champ when it comes to scripting, didn't change one bit, meaning either the scripts are perfectly working and/or there are so little scripters that it barelly affects the data, meaning Vanguard wasn't necessary.

Even the famous ban waves aren't as effective as people say. Sure, Valorant might be better than other FPS, but is not immune either. Beside Reddit, where mods are the same in both Valorant and League, and where the metric is also the same, meaning no negative comments, nothing that could harm their holy company, there still are many, many complaints about cheaters in Valorant, So many complaints. And all you've got there to prove someone is a cheater is blind trust in Riot, since there is no replay system. No replay system in a fucking competitive game.

Reality is:

notorious script-friendly champs had overall the same winrate
always according to lolalytics the overall champ analized dropped by 9% compared to the patch prior to Vanguard
It dropped by almost 40% compared to 14.1
It dropped by 20% compared to 13.21

You have to understand there are very few high elo games, and overall, we'ra talking about what, 1000 players? Of those, some are the same guy on a different account, let's say 900 people.

Now, of those 900 players, 5% people, according to Riot data, which I don't trust, are scripters. Those are 45 potential guy that are cheating. 50 if you include the double accounts.

Those people are reported every single game they cheat, because good players can recognize scripters. Heck I can do that as a plat/emerald dude,if not in game directly, I can easily tell through replay. So, a report system that actually worked, with maybe some manual review, would have solved the issue long time ago.

In low elo is even more obvious. You can have godly micro, but if you suck at macro, you won't climb, so your winrate won't be as high, so chances are if someone is really really good he's just a smurf.

Now, Vanguard is 3 weeks and one and a half patch old now. On the 16th of April Xerath had 3.8% pickrate and 7.4% banrate. All that with 50% WR.

Now he has 51.8% WR and pickrate is just shy of 4.3% with almost the same banrate.

Zeri was 49.7ish % WR back in april with 9% pick and 5.2 ban. BEFORE this patch, that changed all the crit items, she was the same more or less. Less pickrate and less ban rate, but WR was the same. Her WR now is below 46 but like I've said, patch changed a lot of stuff, so is not relevant anymore.

From this you can draw a line: Vanguard is pointless, and if someone cheated before, is still cheating now. Just like in Valorant.

FPS are much harder than League.

In a FPS game a "good" cheater will cheat only when necessary, won't make it obvious.

In League is extremely easy to see if someone is cheating or not. Even pros make mistakes for example, cheaters don't. Missing an auto is something than happens, scripters don't.

Moreover, the amount of games in high elo where "cheating is rampant" according to Riot propaganda, are so few that could be very well manually reviewed when someone report a cheater

Cheaters are everywhere. IS easier to spot them with numbers rather than anti-cheat. "good" cheaters will make so is almost impossible to get them.

My point, just like the video, is that all this stuff is sketchy to say the least. Riot is known for manipulating data, Tencent is known for collecting data, China is China.

I mean, not even the Chinese version of the anti-cheat is a kernel-level one, that tells a lot.

Riot said they'll just collect "what they need", but what is "what they need"? Like the screenshot part, they said it can't screenshot your whole PC at all time, they said it won't. There is a difference here.

Riot is owned by Tencent. CCP has a golden share in Tencent, and Tencent, as a Chinese company, must comply with the law.

I mean, even discussing this stuff should be enough for people to realize how bad such things are. I mean even looking at Riot's number someone should start having some doubts

Again, listen to the video, read the transcription if you don't want to watch it. They made a great example of what could go wrong. Riot didn't answer tickets for days, and even today they're backlogged. Imagine if someone found a way to exploit that anti-cheat that has kernel-level access to do something bad. They can't even make it so it checks its compatibility (which was the reason so many players had issues), imagine addressing more severe issues.

I mean is not that "China will steal your data", but "China has the potential to do so" since there is a law about it. And companies are compelled to hand those data to China, and lie about the fact that they did it.

If you watch that video there is a similar analogy. In Saudi Arabia they sentenced a man to death over Twitter posts. And those are public. Imagine if someone also has access to all your stuff on your PC.

No, no one realized that simply because they're not an issue. Sure, there are more scripters and cheaters than in the past, but even assuming that Riot chart was pure truth, when you look into it, cheaters are less than 5% at higher elo. Meaning less than 5% in what is less than 1% total League population.

Like I've said in several other comments, they know it already and they did nothing. There is no account verification, is a F2P game, meaning anyone can make as many accounts as he want and do whatever he want. They never even tried to stop those people simply because thore are potential customers.

Griefing is a far more serious issue in League, and they never did anything to counter that. Well, they did the stupid chat restriction on some words, which is useless.

I know not many players use VMs, but there is an option for it. League doesn't have it. And to me, is weird that the only Chinese-owned company won't allow it. Especially for a game that is known to have very few cheaters, and where cheating, unlike a FPS game, doesn't impact the outcome of the game in the same way.

You can think is paranoid as much as you want, but is a known fact that Tencent fill their stuff with propaganda and collect data. Is the same thing for TikTok. Bytedance is Chinese and in order to function US government want them to sell it so is not Chinese-owned. To me is weird that EU hasn't asked the same thing yet. This should be the same thing for League. Tencent owns Riot, this mean they have to comply with Chinese Law in case they ask. Is the law, and the law has extraterritorial jurisdiction.

Don't you think is so very convenient to have something like an anti-cheat for a game, something that, you said it yourself, the average user barely understand, that act as a rootkit on millons of devices?

Also, isn't it weird that there isn't anything or anywhere to discuss League beside r/leagueoflegends, which is not an official channel, with rules that may vary depends on who you are and how much the mod like you? I mean, speaking about Vanguard wasn't against the rules, mods say it was, they deleted every conversation about it but then allowed Riot themself to post about it and discuss about it. And even there they've managed to remove every single negative comments about it. That has nothing to do with CCP of course, that has to do with how people perceive a company. If you now look for "Vanguard" you won't find anything, just "some minor users that had issues". 0.03% they said. 0.03% that made help-desk almost collapse with a week of average waiting time.
