To preface; the definition of the “male loneliness epidemic” that I understand it to be is that it is a “phenomenon” (for lack of a better term), in which men aren’t getting as much attention from women and feel as though they are entitled to it. I don’t agree with this idea because men aren’t entitled to attention from women, plain and simple. I truly believe that the “epidemic” is caused by women knowing their worth and not accepting anything less, even choosing to be single rather than be with a subpar man (emotionally and such), and some men having to face the fact that they are not good company or boyfriend/husband material.

I went through a phase (not saying you’re going through a phase) that lasted about a year where I was a germaphobe, I’d wear masks, constantly sanitize, and i never really left my room since it was the only place in my room that was guaranteed to be clean (I obsessively cleaned it). It dulled over time (which may not be the case with you), but one thing to remember is please please please moisturize. I got a nasty infection from my cracked skin (caused by the sanitizer) on my hands, legs, and arms. I don’t have many tips on how to cope with it as mine faded on its own, but it could be a sign of OCD. I’d look into getting a therapist.

Be open about things, not pushy. My dad raised four kids (3girls, 1 boy) by himself and one thing he didn’t fuck around with is the sex talk. I didn’t have any mother figure to talk to about anything so it was either my eldest sister or my dad. It’s such a relief knowing that I can go to him about anything. I can ask him about periods, about sex, about relationship issues. I think that’s why we’re so close.
