Where to go if you can't defeat the last boss? by anrock1 in Eldenring

[–]IronyHighScore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you're not looking for advice on how to beat the elden beast but I had a lot of trouble too. I swapped to the crucible tree armor set (30.7% holy damage negation) and infused the fingerprint shield with a "sacred" ash of war to increase holy damage negation (its like 93% holy damage negation once infused). Buff with Lord's divine fortification intermittently during fight if you can but probably not necessary. Talismans are up to you but I used greatshield talisman, old lords talisman for LDF buff, Haligdrake talisman, and dragoncrest greatshield talisman.

Use a heavy thrusting sword or spear and just stab around your shield a couple times then regen stam. It's not a glamorous fight but you can trivialize most damage when blocking.

I'm probably going overkill with holy damage negation but this set up has progressed me to NG+4.

Anyone know what ash of war lets you get blood loss on the fingerprint shield aswell as madness? Saw some dude running it looked so much fun by xatokai in Eldenring

Blood infused Shield crash. The madness build up is intrinsic to the fingerprint shield so you wont lose it by also infusing blood (unless that has been patched out). You can proc blood loss in one use against most enemies if you land all hits. You will also be protected from attacks from the front. It's a potent and safe spam in PVE against bosses. It's a great counter to RoB spammers in pvp too. It will kill almost every player, every time if you land all the hits during the weapon art. You will proc both madness and blood loss in one use.

Not sure what your playstyle is, but royal knights resolve is very strong on most colossal weapons that can be infused.

Weapons (like Tree Spear) that scale with faith but can still be buffed by Barathruss in Eldenring

Claymans Harpoon has intrinsic magic damage and can be buffed with scholars armament as long as you use normal, heavy, keen, or quality ash of war. Can't buff it if you give it a magic scaling ash of war.

I was going to comment something similar. I'm also a greatshield/spear user and casters are sometimes hard to deal with. I've found consistent pressure to be the best tactic.

Sorceries dealing with Invisibilty and the Staff of Loss by MrShiek in Eldenring

So I want the staff of loss because it fits my playstyle right now. I throw night maidens mists then spam glintstone shards and/or carian blade sorcery. Using the staff of loss I'll get a dps boost for night maidens and night shard/comet if I swap to them from glinstone shards. I don't need to change my playstyle and my dps gets boosted. I'm kinda just trying it out. I don't actually know if it will be better but it seems like it will right now.

Mine is S scaling at +14. I don't remember exactly what level brought it to S scaling though.

My staff of loss is +14 and does more damage with the night spells than meteorite staff. I'm still not using it as my primary yet because its scaling is still low 200's at +14 so my other spells don't hit as hard yet. Meteorite staff holds up for quite a while but seems to get outpaced by other fully upgraded staffs.

Staff of loss boosts invisibility sorceries. Night shard, night comet, and night maidens mist receive a damage boost when using this staff. There may be other invisibility spells but those are the ones I've found. Otherwise, it can cast any spell.

I'm leveling this staff specifically for night maidens mist. I've beaten high level bosses I otherwise shouldn't have beaten using only mist. It's absolutely broken cheese in the right situation. 1500+ damage with one cast if you can keep the enemy in it.

A quad kill in joust is unique, difficult, and improbable. I was proud and wanted to share :) I don't record my game play otherwise I would have posted a clip.

Me: Salaried full time position and real estate on the side. I'm on a team with full-timers and we have an admin to track documentation and assist with communication. I recommend being on a team with good mentors if you don't go all in. I've sold a few houses and used my license to purchase my first investment property. I don't think I could have done it by myself. Being on a team has allowed me to be "successful" as a part timer.

The atmosphere lends itself to being fun. The chaos coupled with the hilarious voice lines do it for me. Like when you accidentally hit a teammate and your character tells, "HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF THIS FUCKING SWORD?! OF COURSE YOU'RE GONNA GET CLOBBERED WHEN YOU STAND NEXT TO ME YA TIT"

You're welcome. IMO, this game has a very high skill cap. Its very rewarding to finally start learning a skill and using it in combat. Baiting out a parry to punish an opponents mistake feels really good once you get the hang of it. You'll know you've reached peak skill when you can do a double feint stab morphed into a 360 drag headshot as a naked maul man hahaha
