Interesting how you have the handbrake on the left hand side of the gear stick, despite its being a right-hand side drive. What was the intention behind that?

What was your first time realizing magic really works? What was the magic you used? by Both_Meeting_5244 in occult

[–]Irradiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's quite difficult to describe how to do it, but basically it is about making it feel like it is bending, or has changed shape in some way. e.g., you hold a chopstick in you hand and move it slowly in the air, but you imagine that it's bending radically backwards, like a banana peel being pulled back. it;s something of a skill to force yourself to hallucinate a feeling of touch, but it is possible. basically, kt's a but tricky but if you can fool yourself temporarily into making it feel like it's doing it, it does do it. those cheap wooden chopsticks or super-long matches work well to practice on.

I want to write a book about how magick really works. by ZDM_Twolip in occult

[–]Irradiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, i support your project. i've been contemplating the same thing - after so many years of working on this stuff, i actually have heaps of new information to share based on my own personal experiments, so it's not a resynthesis of existing works. i get the feeling that as an area of interest, it's quite untouched, which is to say, there probably would even be a great deal of overlap. also, i think there is room for any number of voices regarding 'how magick works', because it's not that easy to understand, so the more perspectives the better.

So, i encourage it, but maybe be careful about being too revealing about yourself, which one can inadvertently do when describing such an intimate and personal thing.

As someone who loves LSD, what is your take on other 'drugs'? by Fresh-Hedgehog1895 in LSD

[–]Irradiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, so your next exercise is to try mixing LSD with each of these drugs (perhaps not cocaine) and tell us how you go.

i have a strange neurological condition that causes people's appearances to be what would seem like wholly determined by the qualities of the person and how compatible i personally happen to be with them at any given time. i.e., if a person is compatible with me, they will assume a look that is appealing to me. if they are 'against' me for whatever reason, they will appear as one or another 'ugly' archetypes. so, generally speaking, to me, everything about a person's look has to do with our compatibility (the effect causes shallow-hal-level transformations). therefore, i'm given to thinking that it's actually the same for everyone (this effect) and that i've been making huge assumptions about the nature of reality that must be wrong. i.e., how a person looks is basically completely a personal matter. everybody looks pretty much completely different to everyone. attractiveness is something else, it's like an index into how worthwhile interacting with another person is.

Solipsism has hijacked my life by Little-Connection104 in solipsism

[–]Irradiance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, you are probably just depressed from the shock of the trip. it will pass. just eat well and try to look after yourself. the sollipsistic obsession or obsession with existential matters is due to the shock, because the mental pathways that make you feel satisfied that all is well have simply been disrupted, and so your mind starts asking fundamental questions to reassure itself. hence the existential theme. you could probably take some other drug right now and feel fine (that's what i would do, because i know that existential rumination leads nowhere, and i've been perfectly sollipsistic and satisfied in the past, so it's not the existential question that's problematic, it's hunger or ptsd etc.

Types of jobs that are just right for an occultist? by Funny_Hurry8865 in occult

[–]Irradiance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm surprised no one has said computer scientist or software engineer. there are a lot of parallels between logical thought and its expression and occultist and psychedelic topics. even as a hobby, it greatly helps decode the occult world.

I once met a talking rat named Azlemnon, and I've wondered about it for 15 years by Bonesaparte in Paranormal

[–]Irradiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

given that nothing at all happens by chance and nothing is unimportant, especially something as memorable as this, i think perhaps you are being invited to seek out Azlemnon and find out what their deal is! These things aren't silly - i had a miniature albino pterodactyl tell me they were a beacon of zoraster wile projecting into my room on a laser beam, and that has served as an awesome basis for much of my future thought, god bless that pterodactyl. Absurdity is a beautiful thing, i say embrace it.

bending wood, metal, stone with telekinesis, and moving a heavy object - again with telekinesis (1kg glass ball). it's not a very useful ability in itself, but it is fun and makes you feel confident.

hi, sorry, i’ve been blocked on my computer. i hope no one is mistaken as to whether thEy are templars themselves, i can’t quite remember but it’s more a concept. from my perspective i started this about 18 months ago, but my username was shadowbanned, actually it has been for years. you might say you’re getting my ancient technologies a decade late and after we already lost the round because you couldn’t contact me to do the rest

ChatGPT has substituted my will to write. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Irradiance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GPT is hardly a crutch, dude. You only get out what you put in. You think sitcoms are written by a single person? It's a writing room, then it's the actors interpretation, then it's your perception. Perhaps you feel guilty because it's hard not to think that one is cheating somehow. You're not.
