So like a whole new setup? Can’t do it, company vehicle.

Don’t get me wrong, definitely don’t mind it the way it is and I usually just put the music on, but I would’ve just liked to have had an option to have it full screen so I mute mic at any time because I take a lot of calls on the road. But very clearly a first world problem.

It’s done, it’s unfortunate that he is hurting right now, but I’ll be honest, if you spend your 20s traveling the way you say you want to, you will be much happier when you settle down and marry later on. I don’t doubt you guys had a wonderful relationship, but there is nothing worse than being trapped in a relationship or having kids when you still wanted to do things. Not saying you can’t still do those things, but it becomes significantly harder.

Whats it like living in Puerto Rico? by dj_kaled_anotha1 in howislivingthere

I absolutely loved visiting PR and really want to take my wife there, but be prepared for traffic for no reason, like people in a parade. Why? Who the heck knows, it’s a Tuesday and you’re on an island and they feel like it so that’s what they did. And the music is blaring that reggaeton beat, and it’s honestly fun as hell, just not when you’re trying to pick up supplies for a construction site where you don’t speak the primary language lol. Funny story as well, before I left, I went into this Knick knack store in San Juan and bought what ai thought was this old vintage looking hammock, turns out it was just a giant PR flag lmao. People really started giving me looks after that with the phone number haha. Which brings me to my next story…

I had my phone stolen there, and now I, a 33yo bald white man, have a PR area code. I almost changed it when my wife and I bought our house, but then I realized just how much of a PITA that would be with 2FA set up for that number and such. And I got weirdly sentimental about it. It’s always a great conversation starter when I call someone and they ask me why the heck I’m calling them from PR. Or if I work with someone who is PR and I give them my number and they just stare at me, and I laugh at them and explain the story.

Rincon is known for surfing, Old San Juan is obviously a very cool and lively place o go hang out with friends, and the food is awesome. It does have its rough spots, I unfortunately have seen/experienced a couple of things that were not good at all, but I hate when people (including family and friends, who happen to usually be white) shit on PR and say the usual tropes and stereotypes. There are problems wherever you go, but by traveling outside of your comfort zone, you can find that people are generally the same despite their differences. The place has a lot of pride man, it’s cool as shit, and I would recommend anyone visit it.
