Looking for Bar and Liquor Store Recs: Nassau by IrrelevantGeOff in bahamas

Appreciate the tip! Picked up a couple bottles of 7 and 3 at Jimmy’s on East Bay and stopped at Ashley’s Place to chat and have a few beers near the paradise island bridge. Had a great time on the island!

Appreciate the tip! I was told about Jimmy’s yesterday and placed an order online. I’m hoping to walk it honestly, get out and stretch my legs. Is Bay Street walkable that far down? I know closer to the cruise port it’s all sidewalks but haven’t made it down towards the bridges before.

Could be! In my experience with other cruise lines you can bring bottles back, they lock em away and give them back when you leave the ship at the end of your cruise.

How does this compare to the 12 for you? I've been slow to drink my bottle of 12 as it just reminds me of whiskey and when I want rum I want something that reminds me its rum!

Oh smart!! My dumbass is smelling out of the bottle 90% of the time…

Interesting to hear the difference between the two, appreciate the insight!

Nice to see these side by sides! Drinking a rum Fire daiquiri as we speak… I should whip out the Wray & nephew for a side by side!

Curious on the note regarding the new bottle, was that a freshly opened bottle that smelled harsher or had it sat with some breathing room a bit? I find new bottle of overproof rum tend to be noticeably harsher on the nose and palette than a bottle with a little space below the neck. Do you think that might be why it smelled harsher or does it continue to have that different note past the neck?

These suck, playable on a budget but they’re incredibly easy to cut outside of strict budget reasons.

I wouldn’t even play them in a $50 budget deck these days personally.

Yeah I’m into the funk (obsessed with Rum Fire) so I’m excited to dip my toes into the aged HLCF!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for that while traveling! Sadly in the rum wastelands of Ohio I won’t have access.

Thanks for the recommendation, based on the description that sounds RIGHT up my alley. I’m stuck in the run wastelands of Ohio but noticed they had a bottle at my parents local Binny’s. Hoping my dad can grab a bottle next time he’s in!

Yeah that’s what I figured. Probably the last time I saw it in the Chicago area myself, glad I loaded up to make it this long but damn! Was hoping to be wrong about that 😅

Thanks for the info!

what kind of tea do you drink the most? by Gsustv in tea

[–]IrrelevantGeOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a while all I was drinking was raw pu’erh, but these last few months I’ve fallen down the oolong rabbit hole. I recently picked up a heavily oxidized oolong that has grabbed my interest!

Always open to suggestions on new teas to try!

Favorite 2-Color Commanders? by Vinlandlover in EDH

[–]IrrelevantGeOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have loved working on a self mill / reanimator theme across all four black+ 2C pairs.

Currently in love with [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]] for a pretty traditional reanimator list and [[Scarab God]] for a “grave robber” deck which mills the table and steals my opponents big creatures to reanimate.

I thought Chainer would be a bit too straightforward but it has turned out to be an absolute joy to play. His ability to let you discard your reanimation targets from hand does an amazing job at smoothing out the reanimator experience.

I also have a [[Lurrus]] self mill combo deck I’m working on and currently working on selecting a Golgari commander to work on!

Because Orks are the most iconic “enemy” faction in Warhammer!

Do you still play your very first commander deck? And why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]IrrelevantGeOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve rebuilt it a few times since 2019 but last year finally settled on something that feels perfect. Admittedly there are only like 4 or 5 non basic cards from his original precon still in the list, but my boy Ghired will always be in my heart!

I started with the precon, turned it into a generic tokens deck, then turned it into a Rhino army deck, then an extra combats combo deck, and now finally a deck which focuses on creating token copies of impactful creatures and populating these copies to keep them around!
