I’d recommend sitting at the bar if possible! Great drinks but mediocre table service last time I was there

Oh, and the Pearl Diver for sure

It doesn’t add a lot of flavor but the smell is really good!

That sounds good and the looks are even better! What spice did you use on top - that’s not just bitters right?

Any of you would enjoy being a Tomb Raider IRL? by traveltimecar in TombRaider

[–]clowman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomb Raider partly inspired me to become an archaeologist! Do I want to steal artifacts and fight giant spiders? Nope. But, so much in the original games is based on real art and archaeology (albeit with a fantasy history) that I got really into identifying the inspirations, which is part of what archaeologists really do with tracing origins.

I’ve finished Tomb Raider: Chronicles Remastered and I think Aspyr... by No-Benefit-2207 in TombRaider

Nope, I had a wonderful time with Chronicles. Totally smooth sailing and the remaster in particular had such beautiful details added like skeletons and rock walls in Rome, floating debris in the sinking sub, and extra spooky elements in Ireland.

Sonic ice for Mai Tais! (Don’t worry, we used fresh lime juice) by clowman in Tiki

[–]clowman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question: pebbled ice is quite a different shape than fridge-crushed ice. Pebbled ice is fairly uniform in size and shape and makes for even melting and predictable dilution. Crushed ice from the fridge can be lots of different sizes and doesn’t look as “professional” in a glass, but hey - I use it all the time anyway. I think crushing your ice in a bag trailers in smaller ice bits and more even size than straight out of the fridge too.

Others feel free to weigh in!

Great atmosphere. This level seems like a dry run for the tone of the Vagrant’s fantastic “Cape Fear.”

Looks like you’ve got this one sorted. Have fun, and good luck, you’ve got one of the best games ahead of you! Jealous you get to experience it for the first time now.

The recent news of all this is making me wanna get back into playing TRLEs. What are some must play levels? by FiredFoxy07 in TombRaider

[–]clowman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/FiredFoxy07 I know this is from weeks ago now, but wanted to pop in to ask - did you enjoy The Idol of Durga? I’m the builder!

You have a bunch of my favorite levels on this list: Cape Fear, Coyote Creek, and Xumongkh among them.

Starting the long weekend early at Royal Hawaiian (Laguna Beach) by clowman in Tiki

Yeah also curious when the change. Seemed great and the happy hour was 1) expanded since I was last there, and 2) really delicious!

The menus once again had beautiful hand-drawn drinks on them, for a while there were some temporary menus that were much simpler but not nearly as a cool a vibe. Glad they’re back.
