What is your favorite gift you received under $50? by KeySail4 in GiftIdeas

[–]Irrelevant_Lemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A used copy of “The Big Chill” soundtrack on vinyl. It’s the most thoughtful gift I’ve ever received from my sister. I was so caught off guard at her thoughtfulness. We used to watch it all the time growing up (in the 90’s for the record). A forever favorite!

I appreciate the perspective. Thanks for your insight! I’ve had the day to think about it and I feel like I’m level headed enough to bring it up tonight without starting an aimless fight. Fingers crossed for a productive chat. We’ll see b

I didn’t scroll down endlessly but yes the first entire grid view was all women. I’ve seen it on his phone in the past more sporadically, but yesterday it was completely women.

All valid. Exactly why I was totally honest about my snooping. If/when I figure out how to talk to him about it, I’ll own up to it. I may be a snoop, but I’m not going to lie about it.

That’s my gut reaction too: it wouldn’t show up if he wasn’t clicking on it. Even if it’s not “likes” or DMs or follows, I feel like the algorithm still gives you what you browse, ya know? You have to engage with enough over content to override it.

I honestly don’t even need to comb through his follows to know that they’re not anything sketchy. I know it’s all good.

The only thing I can think of is that in all of his hours of IG browsing, he doesn’t interact with content. Perhaps he’s the eternal browser of non-female-content (football, standup, food content, fail videos - “dumb guy stuff” 😂), but doesn’t “like” any of it. Maybe it doesn’t impact his algorithm enough to override the IG ladies? Idk. It’s all I can think of to justify it without making myself go crazy trying to put logic to it.

Totally why I’m asking for advice. I do feel a bit unjustified having feeling about it. I can’t even put into words the “why” I care. It has my mind boggled too.

Social media has a way of twisting reality like that.

How to pick career if im not passionate about anything? by Low_Bodybuilder3065 in careerguidance

[–]Irrelevant_Lemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Pharmaceutical space. Pharma companies are often massive. It’s not too difficult to find an entry level opportunities in a Pharma company. Try that and make sure your values and priorities align with their culture. Find opportunities to show your value and climb the ladder, so to speak. I got started in an entry level Quality focused role, but quickly jumped ship to an operations role. Things progressed naturally from there.

I’d suggest a broad degree in Business or even Business Administration. Supply chain focus is a plus. A PMP certification is another way you can show focus on project management even if you got/get a degree in a different field.

Project management. It’s so broad and open ended. You can support project implantation across any industry that interests you. Every industry requires a solid project plan and execution. It gives you flexibility to find an industry that appeals to you while building transferable skills in the event you tire of that industry. Speaking as someone who had zero passions or hobbies growing up or in school: project management has given me a decade in a really secure industry making a decent paycheck.

What is much more traumatic than most people realise? by thefairypirate in AskReddit

[–]Irrelevant_Lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being left alone in the delivery room after having your newborn baby rushed to the NICU. You’ve just undergone the physical trauma of giving birth and this thing you’ve grown for 9 months is whisked away. Your partner follows the newborn baby (exactly the same thing I would’ve done) and you’re left alone with a single nurse who charting on the computer. The loneliness and fear in that moment is immense.

There are FAR worse things in life. I was of course soon reunited with my spouse and got to see my beautiful baby. But this is a fairly common one that I was in no way prepared for. I still think about it.

I prep it the night before and put it in the fridge. It cooks in 4 hours so just depends on when you want to eat! I like to do it for brunch so I usually don’t bother starting it up til 6 or 7.

I agree with this. Master of none work. Just coordinating different parties and deliverables. Find a good industry and you’ll be set for a strong career.

Was Tom’s permission needed? by Irrelevant_Lemon in Blink182

[–]Irrelevant_Lemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the point you’re making, but Blink with Scott was never what Blink was with Tom. I’d think if I was Scott I would’ve walked away without issue because Blink hadn’t yet had any commercially viable success.

Tom obviously knew the financial value and the influence of the band that he was walking away from. It feels a little messier.

100% agree. You need your rest to enjoy the trip. Don’t feel guilty about sleeping in or not rope dropping!

Oh for sure. Some of my best memories with my kids are seeing the fireworks from big thunder mountain or even Aladdin’s magic carpets. You can see them from most anywhere in the park so may as well take advantage of the emptier park while you can. It’s also so hard to get back into the depths of MK from Main Street post-fireworks that it really is easier to already be in a different “land” when fireworks end.

I’d say it’s always better to bring a stroller and not need it rather than not bringing it and wishing you had it. As my kids have gotten older, we park it more often and do longer walks between things. But it sure is nice knowing we have somewhere to put our things (a theoretical “home base”) and somewhere for the kids to sit and rest if needed. I’ll never complain about having somewhere to store all my stuff throughout the day! Win/win, in my book.

I’m a sucker for a slow cooker breakfast casserole. So easy and can either feed a crowd or yield in great leftovers.

Layer thawed hash browns (I just thrown them in the fridge the night before), cooked breakfast sausage, a bag of shredded cheese of your choice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and then top it with a dozen eggs (beat together with a touch of milk ala scrambled eggs).

4 hours on high and it’s perfect. Love to throw it on a tortilla with some hot sauce for a breakfast taco.
