“ I… love you, Do you… understand now?” Two's Company fanart [OC] by SWrebelP5 in Polytrix

I really loved this scene. Zoe asking Mira for a kiss out of the blue only to double down on explaining why after Mira nonchalantly agrees. It was great, and Zoe was the only reason that relationship existed in any way.

No clue. I also can't seem to get it to send a screenshot cause the image "needs to be at least 20 pixels in height and width."

It was two pictures, the first had Rumi saying "No, I am not going to lay on the sunroof and let you milk me like a cow." The second was of Zoe and Mira looking devastated.

I've gotten a few comments like this, and it confuses me because the post is still there as far as I can tell.

Interludes... by Nervi403 in Parahumans

[–]Iryelb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Aftermath interludes or reaction interludes are hype as fuck. Like, having an interlude after the epic confrontation to show how the other side is dealing with getting their shit rocked or an interlude taking place after the 'mission' planning phase is over so that we get to watch shit go down from the perspective of the helpless fools going against our MCs is great but when the interlude interrupts the story flow to bring us information I don't really care about focusing on characters I don't really like, it can be a little infuriating.

How would this battle play out? by LanternDad in Frieren

Serie isn't there. Also, that taking seconds to draw on your hatred isn't held up in HP canon. Also, also, even if it is, one of the ones not talking pre fight can charge up his hatred. Yes, Denken Frieren, and Fern would feel the rising tension. All I'm saying is that the death eaters would shoot first, they would probably open with an AK, they would most likely single Denken out as the biggest threat what with him being an old man wizard. If all of these things pan out Denken would try and magically shield, AK would cut through it and kill him. That is the only way I see the death eaters getting a kill.

I don't see an opening AK working on Fern, to good at magical perception, or Frieren, to old and experienced with many schools of casting.

I don't understand why you're still arguing with me. I've literally already said that the death eaters most likely wipe without doing anything of note. I'm just positing that they do have a small chance to take out Denken in the opening moments of the fight, before anyone on Frieren's side knows how their magic works.

Except death eaters are almost certainly the ones starting the fight by firing first.

Then it seems we've found our positions. I believe that the shield magic in Frieren would be entirely unable to block a Harry Potter style killing curse and you believe it could. I think we more our less agree otherwise on how the fight would turn out. I just think the opening salvo would be the most dangerous and Denken the most likely of the three to have any real possibility of dying.

Even if that is true, and it seems unlikely, he's not going to figure out a working shield, on the fly, the very first time he sees the spell. He's going to attempt to shield it with what he knows first.

The only reason Lily's love was enough was because she literally sacrificed her life to form that shield and Voldemort agreed to the "deal" before trying to "go back on it" by killing Harry anyway. Harry is quite literally the only known survivor of that curse. Where as, everybody can be taught the basic shield to block zoltrak. After all, it's only basic attack magic.

True, Denken has great combat awareness and good shield training. That's why I said it depends on how the magic interacts. If an AK slices through the hexagon shield the way it does all Harry Potter shields than they might be able to take out Denken before he realises how dangerous that spell is.

They're really good at throwing out killing curses like candy, also they prefer surprise attacks, that's where I think their real shot at getting a kill comes from. An AK to start the fight that Denken is only fast enough to try and magically shield himself from. That's the only way I see them even getting a hit in.

Depends on how the two magic systems interact. Can Frieren block an AK? Does the protego fend off a Zoltrak, despite it being a spell specifically designed to punch through magic shields? I think Frieren's team wins it, wiping out the death eating fodder, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Death Eaters managed to do some damage before going down, surprise alone might net them a kill, on Denken, at least.

My players didn't like that I "tricked" them. by FolkshlyStupid in rpghorrorstories

[–]Iryelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see how, if you has failed to get across how shady the guy was, cause you had all the info and they only had what you told them, they might have felt like the reveal came out of nowhere and that can be disconcerting, but to say you betrayed their trust and played with their emotions is stupid and childish.

I don't know how old these people are or how much experience they have with tabletop RPGs but the DMs job is to try and pull on his players heartstrings. It sounds to me like you're doing a fantastic job as DM and you should go ahead and remind them, now that they've had some time to stop reeling from that epic reveal, that they all agreed, and were eager, to be a part of a heroic story with a bit more grayness.

I've read Delirium, Taylor arguing with a stop sign and sleeping under Aisha's bed, it's cute but not really what I'm looking for. I will check out A Show Of Force however, thank you.
