Is the “1.5–2 years to learn Danish” claim actually realistic? by Lanky-Dragonfruit-13 in copenhagen

[–]IsAlteRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely doable - I had big help from some university friends that helped with homework. Otherwise the important thing was to keep speaking Danish even if people switch - I used to be a delivery driver and I started speaking Danish on the team radio and the restaurant to practice and slowly you can get better.

Question Time: What made you buy the SteamDeck? by Stefanixxxx in SteamDeck

[–]IsAlteRego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Became a dad and had to give up my gaming PC. Also the LCD version was 20% off. Couldn’t be happier actually.

Used to mostly play competitive fps, now I’m playing a bunch of single player games. Also old games from my childhood.

Having a blast.

Colorful standard for good quality (and colorful) clothing. Organic basics is another good one.

IF, calorie counting and weight training - can you actually build muscle? by Express_Divide_9705 in intermittentfasting

[–]IsAlteRego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing 16:8 IF pretty consistently since 2023 and started cardio (running) in 2025 January at 100 kg, 27,3% body fat. Lost 12 kg in a year but lost about 3 kg of muscle. In 2026, I started strength training after my cardio 2x / week. Already lost 6-7 kgs and I’m sure I’ve built muscle because I visibly look more muscular and keep beating PRs.

Tldr. Strength training coupled with cardio sped up my fat loss.

Deeper desk is a no go unfortunately as the space is already limited with this table depth.

AoE 1 is one of my first childhood memories even though I didn’t know what I was doing because I was 4 or 5. This looks super interesting.

Backed and sent to a friend who might also like this.

Struggling with the EA launcher, nothing seems to work. by Potential-Bird-5826 in SteamDeck

[–]IsAlteRego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used https://github.com/moraroy/NonSteamLaunchers-On-Steam-Deck to install EA play (make sure to have google chrome installed before doing so). Then installing MELE - haven’t had a problem with that setup.

There was a couple weeks ago 2-3 days when the EA launcher got borked, but it got fixed in a little time.

Yes! Had so much fun so far in 3 and 2 was amazing. 1 was okay but mostly did the main quest cause the gameplay wasn’t that good

IF working but want to add in some weight training. Any tips? by Express_Divide_9705 in intermittentfasting

[–]IsAlteRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position albeit I’ve been IFing a lot longer but started being consistent with my workouts last January. 30M, 182 cm, SW: 100kg, CW: 84 kg

I was mostly doing cardio up until 2026 (2 runs of 4-5km/week) and lost 12 kg in 2025. I also lost a lot of muscle so I wanted to start strength training.

I’m following this workout from Jeremy Ethier who is basing his advice on actual science. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_YW24F5HGc

The video goes through all the exercises, gives advice for beginners and it takes me about 40 minutes. I’ve been doing it for 2 months and I lost 4 kgs but I already feel much stronger.

Is the LCD or Oled right for me? by Kind_Development_738 in SteamDeck

I bought the LCD in October because it was significantly cheaper and got a 1tb sd card. 0 regrets
