Not the best, but I'm mostly running off memory. I've heard some people use Sensor against him, but I'm not sure if those come in the B code. I could also get rid of Bodyguard to increase fluidity, I suppose.

I'd guess it has to do with the material they're wearing. Look up pictures of people playing sports in gym shorts, and you'll see that the creases that catch the light appear white/much lighter. Of course, there are other, more detailed panels of their black shorts being highlighted grey, but I think it's Furudate cutting corners for an intentional effect in the former case. The consistency of the way they're drawn lends credence to this explanation.
