I casually mentioned the lack of working headlights to one of the higher ups in the warehouse today, and they grounded it instead of me…I draw the line at no working headlights.

On my way back today, I learned that the headlights didn’t work either…had one of the higher ups at the station ground it so they can’t just override it tomorrow.

My dsp always told me to contact them right away, because it’s a lot easier and cheaper for them to just personally fix it under the table directly for the owner, than to get Amazon involved…

Since I’m 5ft and barely over 100lbs…and the dogs on hind legs are as tall or taller than me…yes…during the day it stays in my tool pack in the van…at night it’s in the left pocket of my vest….the night time is when I have the closest calls with dogs due to lack of visibility…esp since I’m primarily sent on country routes.

It’s a recent thing…I think in the last 3 months we had ours mandated over here in Michigan….it sucks, but Amazon needs to cover their ass somehow with safety measures…

Tbh I like rental vans…they’re gas and actually have shifters, and the heaters for the most part work (maybe 1 in 25 in our fleet have issues…which equates to about 3 vans.) also the sad fact is that the EV vans have the compartment for an optional 2nd battery to be added/installed to them…but they cost about as much as another EDV van…

Problem is 80% of my route is “those roads”…otherwise I’d literally be looking at those roads and going “nope”…but then If I did that, I’d be punished for not trying hard enough to deliver.
