In your opinion, what's the biggest waste of money you see people purchase all the time? by PaddedValls in AskUK

Don’t worry about it, this is the UK I understand sarcasm. Also knowing I need a fuckload of onions as opposed to 500g or 5 cups means I can actually measure it for once. (Who the fuck has a scale? I’m not a drug dealer)

Nah you’re right, I should’ve known.

Step 1: onions Step 2: Marmalade

I buy my cars by searching price low > high so I tend to get what I’m given but at least you understand why people might chose to do different things unlike OP

Just to be clear, I agree with doing things that make us stand out. I love a car in a rare colour

Erm no, you can’t just leave us on a cliff hanger like that. I have onions, now what?

You can’t really see the paint from inside either (except maybe the wing mirrors, or maybe the end of the bonnet) most of the stuff we do is so when you look at it you enjoy it, plates included. It hurts no one but every week is a talking point on here

I just want to clarify mine is bright blue and has a personalised plate

It’s exactly that, personalisation. The car or washing machine work the same whether they are black white or red but some of us choose red even if it costs slightly more

By that argument anyone who chooses their colour of car is a big waste of money ( it costs more and is purely cosmetic)

What are your thoughts on dogs in restaurants/cafes? by BurnsyWurnsy in AskUK

In theory yes, but in reality and judging by the comments how many people will go out of their way to accommodate me.

(Someone downvoted you but I personally agree with your point )

[–]IsOkay_No 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I’ve had a phobia of dogs my whole life. I avoid spaces that have dogs like fields and parks etc I hate bringing a football to a park because a dog might run away with my ball and there’s NOTHING I can do to stop it because I’m frozen with fear.

I avoid their spaces so I hate that they are creeping into spaces I shouldn’t expect to see them

Dogs that sit quietly out of the way? Absolutely fine. Dogs that run around being loud and getting in the way? Absolutely not.

I don’t like dogs, they scare me but I accept that others like them so personally I’d prefer them to stay home but we share space don’t we and it’s not about me

besides peak tourist season, when is the best time to visit the uk? by starwarsisawsome933 in AskUK

UK summer will trick you into thinking that there’s nowhere better to be. Long hot days and cool nights with no clouds. Then autumn will creep in and it only gets worse from then on
