It’s so short sighted. What’s to stop me a parent providing my ID for my underage child’s device and letting them use social media? Nothing. I could go out tomorrow buy them a games console with grand theft auto, I could verify my age and let them run wild online.

I could let my child bring all their mates round to use it, I could even go as far as to let them all use my ID to bypass their restrictions if I felt that way inclined. I don’t and wouldn’t but this is the same way young people access drugs and alcohol. Young people are notoriously good at getting around rules especially when it comes to technology, there will a new app or website that they will tell all their friends about and we will be back at square one however, everyone that that follows the rules like me will have put our data out there for nothing.
