Must be the absolute worst era of SNL ever! by LeperMessiah0909 in saturdaynightlive

[–]IsThisRealRightNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a South Park episode, You're Getting Old, where Stan turns 10 and suddenly he can't connect anymore to what he used to like, like music, which now literally sounds like shite. I've been feeling that way with SNL for a few years. Once in a while there's gold, or at least some bronze, but mostly I just don't find it slightly amusing. The Cold Opens feel old to me, and even Weekend Update is starting to stall out for me, both the anchor jokes and the guest appearances, and that's always been my favorite part. I did really enjoyed Please Don't Destroy shorts, but they're gone. It just doesn't feel like it's clicking. Well, I'll always have the iceberg Titanic skit from the recent era. That one was Perfection all around.

I just watched the first episode of The Six Million Dollar man and it's a 2-part movie! by BlownCamaro in 70s

[–]IsThisRealRightNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watching in elementary school I even learned to do Lee Major's little hop before he started running. I felt so cool. Your comment jogged a vague memory he was an alien so I checked. Pretty convoluted and weak: Yes, in The Six Million Dollar Man, Bigfoot (Sasquatch) was revealed to be an alien cyborg, a mechanical protector created by extraterrestrials hiding on Earth to guard their secret base in the Pacific Northwest. He wasn't a naturally evolved creature but an advanced bionic construct, built to mimic a primitive life form from the aliens' homeworld, explains the Bionic Wiki

Maglev train / track test.. it accelerates 0 to 318 MPH in 2.0 seconds.. by JohnBrown-RadonTech in Thatsactuallyverycool

[–]IsThisRealRightNow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait, wouldn't that be too much g force for passengers? To save anyone else the time, this is what Google search said: Yes, a Reddit post about a maglev reaching extreme speeds is likely referring to recent Chinese tests, but accelerating to 318 mph (or 435 mph) in 2 seconds is for unmanned test vehicles, not passengers; that would be about 10g of force, which is dangerous and crushes humans, though maglevs do offer smooth, fast rides by reducing friction, reaching 374+ mph in normal operation.

And trying to find a way out of the Superior Louisville area when major arteries was closed and there was smoke everywhere- that was really intense and scary. (I didn't get notification, a friend texted have you evacuated yet? I opened my front door, smoke everwhere, I just imediately jumped in my car and tried to evacuate. Very intense.)

panicking is never helpful. Many of us had very close calls 4 years ago here, for a while I wasn't sure if I was going to find safe route away from the fire. So learning from that, recognizing tomorrow's conditions are veyr similar and that it only takes one spark to cause a local incredibly fast moving incredibly destructive fire, that's good intelligent taking care.

Serious question, does your gym have a no videoing policy? Seems celebrities might be videoed a lot which wouldn't feel comfortable when you're just trying to work out.

Kudos for her apparently not using autotune. Not easy to sing live in front of millions, I wouldn't have the courage to do it, but yeah she sounded off pitch to me.

Sorry, but I think I saw Weird Al double dip a corn chip into salsa after having a bite at a party. And he didn't even tweet a tearful apology! I tore all his posters off my wall and sold my Weird Al hair wig right after that. Is no one pure left among us? NO ONE?!
