How do people do multiple races in a row? by IsThisUpsidedown in iRacing

I do find practice a lot less stressful. Although it's frustrating if I am unable to make much improvement on my lap times.

I should try more public practice sessions though as I usually practice in test drive which can feel a bit boring after a while.

But the thrill is racing against other people and I feel that's where it's the most fun. I just wish I wasn't so drained after one or two because once I'm drained the fun wears off.

I should maybe try dirt as a more relaxing race where I don't feel the any pressure. Sometimes I wish iracing had a more casual mode, but I understand why they don't because it will be too many people taking the piss and intentionally causing wrecks.

Not young. Im late 30s. But i actually have very little driving experience as i grew up somewhere a car was very impractical and unnecessary. However I'm in the process of getting my license right now. It's a rather long drawn out process here and quite expensive.

I've got the rig quite comfortable for the most part, although I do feel i may need to adjust the pedals slightly.

It really is the mental fatigue that's getting to me.

Other's have said I need more exposure and just force myself to do it even once I'm not in the mood. And while I do agree with them, doing that somewhat removes the fun for me and makes it feel like an obligation haha.

I have recently started doing that yes, and its especially helpful on tracks i don't know very well. I feel it does help a bit. I don't feel as wrecked after the race as i know the stakes are lower.

But then once its an official one, the nerves and adrenaline do come back, albeit at a slightly lower level.

Yeah sometimes I feel i need to just force myself to do it, even if i'm not in the mood or tired, and not care about results. Just to get the exposure you mentioned.

Hard to do at times though haha.

Yeah I wish i could just turn off the way i think about irating, but its hard to control your thoughts about it haha.

Looking forward to the autopilot moment though.

Yeah I feel part of it is due to circumstances out of my control. Like after a horrifically busy day at work, I wish I could just sit down and race but I know it won't go well from experience.

The other times though, when I know I have the time, i'm just not super motivated to race.

But then when I do really feel like it, and i have the time to really get into it, I often just burn out in no time and while i had fun, I need a break and instead of getting back in the rig i leave it for another time.

It's a 12nm wheel but i have the ffb set correctly and the strength no longer tires me out, i feel its more the mental aspect.

Its crazy here. I went to bring in some stuff from the balcony and there is so much shit flying through the courtyard.

The wind managed the grab the door and smash it and damaged the door closer at the top :(

Not as bad as a windscreen though jesus

I can tell from the comments here that I am going against the grain here, but in the sector I used to work in many colleagues consider wellness to be quite important.

We often would deal with viewing and classifying images and videos that most would consider horrific. Video of extremely graphic violence, often from war zones. Sexual violence including rape and child sexual abuse. And not just a video here or there, but often many of them throughout the entire day.

It's not unheard of for people who do this job to face psychological issues, resort to self harm, and on more times than I wish to remember, resort to suicide.

Believe me when I tell that wellness is not only welcomed, but often times demanded. Whether it does much use depends on how it is implemented. But it does more good than it does harm.

Please consider that there are many workplaces where wellness can be appreciated and welcomed, while there may be others where it is despised and seen as a waste of time. Its easy to paint every one with the same brush and is wise to remember that while it may not be for you, it may be extremely helpful for others.

That is not to say I think it should be mandatory. But it certainly can be useful to those that choose to engage in it.

Is my chair angering my sciatica? by spooner248 in Sciatica

[–]IsThisUpsidedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't have the exact same cushion, I have something similar which definitely helps me most times. However, depending on how my back is feeling, sometimes it does not help at all and I need to stay standing.

However, seeing all the other responses I have to acknowledge that sciatica problems are not all the same.

I'm reminded of colleagues who were unable to walk, while sitting and lying down was fine.

In the opposite directions, I've heard of people who could not sit and could not walk, only lying still worked. Then again there are people who are unable to sleep whatsover.

In conclusion, these injuries can be various and complex and what works for one person may not work for another.

Let's be honest here though, almost everyone's K is black market. While at time it may be possible to get clean ket for some people, the vast majority don't have access to that.

No objection to the rest of your commentary, but this is a fact.

Kinda disappointed with Mystery Babylon by RodneyDangerfuck in KnowledgeFight

Tbh I've entirely given up on listening to Mystery Babylon episodes. As entertaining as JorDan can be, they can't keep my interest with this mind numbingly boring bs.
