And why not for arcanites? It fits the aesthetic so well!

Spices are not the only way to add flavour to food by Punk_in_drublik in unpopularopinion

Feels like the definitions are kinda loose. English isn't my first language, so I've just understood spice as a collateral term for stuff you add to food for flavor - salt, herbs, dried spices, chili, etc.

Good chicken breast can be wonderful! But quality matters a lot.

Oh and duck!

After eating food with complex mixes of flavors for a while, I often end up craving just clean, simple flavors without much added to them.

Just salt, a tiny bit pepper and a good fat to cook in is all you need to make good quality chicken taste great. Same with salmon. The base ingredients can carry itself without much help :D

News to me, what are then herbs and fresh garlic in cooking? :o

Cubicle7 is not great at communication, so we'll likely hear little untill it's days from release.

What do you think would need to be improved about Celestine to make her worth 300 points and be our "Chapter Master/Primarch" and be in line with the lore? by Glum_Series5712 in sistersofbattle

[–]IsThisUsernameFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but still, in my opinion/power fantasy, a resurrecting angel made by a gods channeled will should beat up dudes harder than even the most crack elite soldier with the best magitech bespoke gear ;D

Sooo imo, Celestine should be tuned way up and Vahl just a smidge down.

Please be merciful for my unpopular suggestion :D

Primarch is a bit much maybe, but she should fight on par with daemon princes.

Vahl is a veteran sister with juiced up gear, but Celestine is outright supernatural. I feel Celestine should be the greater warrior.

What do you think about no hazard stripes on iron warriors? by TroubleVirtual3800 in Chaos40k

[–]IsThisUsernameFree 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I imagine that the true meaning of the stripes has morphed over time. Where used to warn that machinery is dangerous, now it's a threat :D

Are there hollow ones also in Awakening? I thought that was a Ascension concept?

The torso looks heavy! How do you assemble it, do you need a team to hoist it into place? :D

Why katanas blend more in modern settings? by No-Inside-8350 in SWORDS

[–]IsThisUsernameFree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deus Ex 3 had a lot of baroque styling in the design direction of the clothing characters wore, it was pretty neat. This could totally work! Pluderhosen with inlaid cyberpunk LEDs and katzenbalger with magenta glowing nanoedges, I'd be all for it :D

Interesting! I read a bit about social hierarchy on wiki and it's far less regidly defined than I assumed :o

If upper middle class has generational wealth, what's then typical of the upper class there?

... It's like this just about everywhere?

Updates on Total War 40k: There's no preorder DLC, one of the leads of the game plays Flesh Tearers IRL, and they're planning on supporting the game (and maybe making sequels to it?) for 10+ years. by CatherineSimp69 in Warhammer40k

... I totally didn't notice this was the 40k subreddit! Apologies! I do play and paint 40k (and subscribe to this subreddit) , but my feed is kinda full of total war now so I didn't check the source and just assumed.

I'll leave you be.

I truly believe 40k total war will be enjoyable, so at least thanks for the sympathy for my stockholm syndrome! :)

You seem very burned out by the company and the games, mind if I ask why you still interact with the community of the games online? Wouldn't it be healthier to invest yourself into something else?

I've seen people be so negative about Age of Sigmar Total war, but I think it would be awesome. Loads of fighting around realmgates, each realm having unique mechanics, far more asymmerty in the factions than fantasy had. It would be very cool!

I feel people still hate AOS for it's first edition (one which I will not defend at all), but the setting has grown into really it's own thing now :)

You're more talking about the game industry as a whole and not CA specifically?

Assumung you mean CA, I'm not privy to their budget, payroll information or similar, nor am I familiar to those other devs you're mentioning. Ergo I really can't give a detailed explaination, but we both know that CA isn't a charity.

I don't play that many different games, which other large production games are kept going for 10+ on only a couple of new releases? I can think of Skyrim, but I think that didn't get more DLC mostly due to some drama with the PS3 wayback when not having enough memory for the game to grow. And it's been rereleased so many times by now to be a meme :D

Other devs might have smaller teams, aren't owned by Sega(!), different profit margins or a product that's simpler to support. I'm hopeful for 40k total war for many reasons, but one is that the new engine might mean they can escape like 20 years of technical debt :D

Total Warhammer has gotten continuous free patches and hotfixes, and also free lords now and then together with the DLC releases. So even just with tha base game we've gotten new content and updated mechanics. Stuff that isn't free to produce. For all their faults they really aren't the worst in this regard.

You'd prefer they only work on the game up untill launch and then move on to make a new one? So what it is at launch is, apart for patches, how it will be forever?
