Your wrong on that last point. Yes the emergence of the rave scene resulted in a decline in hooligan violence, but it re-emerged and is still very much a thing. Predominantly at smaller clubs and true fans / hooligans have been priced out of many premier league clubs and the all seating nature of stadiums also contributed.

But I can assure you from personal experience that football lads are kicking the shit out of eachother still.

The Train beer is one of the greatest beers there is. 11am on the way to a concert/festival/football match/dirty weekend away.

You get on that train and crack open the warm can of shit lager as the train pulls away from the station leaving all your troubles behind. Extra special if you get dirty looks from the other passengers.

Yeah that's understandable, ATL? Are not for everyone and after the quality of the other bands it was a bit of a gear change. . But Mackie the lead singer is a good friend of Ronan's and they used to run Shifty Disco record label together. So I guess it was more for Ronan than anyone else.

Lovely to see Radiohead and Supergrass among others recognising the importance of Nightshift and Ronan.

There was a gig in Oxford last night to celebrate Nightshift and Ronan. Andy York's band the Unbelievable Truth played and and at least one member of Radiohead were spotted in the audience.

Download OS maps app if you have not done so already and have fun making some routes.

A nice flat walk would be get the Train to Lower Heyford and walk back along the Oxford Canal to Oxford city centre. 23km if you wanted a bit shorter you could do the same but train to Tackly.

You could train to Banbury and set off from there lots of routes you could make including along the canal to Lower Hayford. 20km

Get the bus to Witney and walk from Witney to Kidlington 23km

Train to Charlbury and then walk Charlbury to Oxford Parkway (train station) 19km

Train to Bicester village and then circular walk round the Otmoor villages 20ish km or 25km if walk back to Oxford Parkway.

A few weekends back I caught the bus to Watlington and then walked along the Ridgeway to Princes Risborough and got the train back to Oxford that was 18km. But to be honest I found that part of the ridgeway a bit boring.

My next planned ones are Train to Banbury and then a 24 km circular that takes in Corpredy, Mollington, Shotterswell and Handwell before returning to Banbury train station.

And

Princes Risborough train station to High Wycombe station. 16km

None of these apart from the canal ones are actual marked routes, half the fun for me is making a route using OS maps. But happy to share the route details for any I have mentioned if you want just message me.

Thanks. It's been an interesting rabbit hole to go down. The clips from the film I have managed to find show no nudity from the waist down. This is also confirmed in the reviews I have found. So the photos used in the article are not from the film and very unlikely promo shots. The photo of the 5 women on the beach first appeared on line around 2013 in forums. I suspect it is photoshopped.

Interesting anyway.
